Area Chulmleigh is a charming village in Devon with a true, traditional sense of community. It is enjoyable to stroll through this area of Devon, which is still largely undeveloped, with its winding cobblestone streets, rows of thatched cottages, courtyards, and friendly inns. It is a popular site all year round, offering both winter and summer treks. The 180-mile Tarka Trail begins at the close-by Eggesford Forest, which is located on the banks of the River Taw, and travels along a charming route through woods while providing breathtaking vistas of moorland. Birdwatchers will find kingfishers, cormorants, goosanders, and dippers along the peaceful riverbanks of Chulmleigh, which is particularly ideal for them. With salmon and sea trout in the rivers as well as coarse fishing on Catham Lakes and Huntacott Water, fishing is a much-liked pastime in the area. Chulmleigh is well located for access to the untamed north Devon coast and is situated halfway between the national parks of Dartmoor and Exmoor.
Region Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?
