Brixham has a long standing maritime history and the harbour remains the heart of it, offering visitors a choice of boat trips from relaxing tours, fishing trips and a regular foot ferry across the bay to the resort town of Torquay. There are several beaches within easy reach, including Shoalstone beach with its tidal pool, the town s main Breakwater beach and the quiet St Marys Bay.
