The famous Tarka Trail starts just a few hundred yards away – a perfect way to take in the scenery of the Taw and Torridge estuaries either on foot or bicycle. Keen birdwatchers, walkers and naturalists will find plenty to explore in the area. Nearby NT Arlington Court, Marwood Gardens, RHS Rosemoor Gardens, Dartington Crystal Works and Exmoor National Park are all within easy driving distance. Fishing, sailing, and horse riding, plus surf board, windsurf, wetsuit and bicycle hire are all available locally.

Shed for bikes and boards. Steps to middle terrace which has raised beds with wild flowers. Steep stone steps to top deck with views over the village and onwards to the burrows and hartland point. Garden with shrubs and wild flowers. Garden furniture for 8 and tables for dining. Care should be taken on steps to the upper garden area as they are steep and uneven in places.
