Fresh fish may be purchased on the quay, and fishing and boat trips are easily arranged, in season. The three mile surf-washed sandy beach of Westward Ho! and the market town amenities of Bideford are each within a ten minute drive, with the historic fishing villages around Clovelly and miles of magnificent National Trust coast paths a short drive beyond. On the opposite side of the estuary the beach resort of Instow can be reached in the season by a small walk on ferry.
