Just two miles up the road is the village of Hartland, which boasts three pubs, two shops, galleries and a café, perfect to stock up on the essentials and spend many evenings tasting the produce of local pubs. For supermarkets and fuel stations head 15 miles in either direction along the A39, to the south you will find the coastal town of Bude with three sandy beaches and many shops and host of outdoor activities, and Bideford to the east, where you can catch the local boat over to Lundy for the day.
