Quiet, warm, cosy and within easy reach of Exmoor National Park, SouthWest Coast Path, Lynton & Barnstaple Steam Railway and lots of local attractions. Low Covid area and the local businesses had all stepped up to the mark with excellent takeaways, socially distanced facilities and everyone serving wearing PPE. Any negatives? Internet was a bit clunky and the TV couldn't keep up - had to snuggle up and use a Smartphone between us

Tom’s House is a really well appointed romantic retreat perfect for couples.. Set in a rustic pretty working farm, the cottage has a well equipped kitchen and comfortable living room. The bedroom is enormous with a super king sized bed. The owner is close by to help with useful local knowledge. The area itself is very pretty and we enjoyed a sunny Christmas Day in Watermouth cove and harbour.

We were not greeted by Mrs Barten and as it was quite late when we arrived, due to traffic and not being able to locate the cottage, we were surprised that there was only a very small bottle of milk in the fridge.. Consequently at around 7 o/clock in the e being we had to drive (after 6 hours of driving) to find somewhere that sold food for morning breakfast. There were other small issues, but I would not go there again as the cottage was not in a situation for 80 year olds to walk. We left after 3 days.

This is a lovely cottage, which is beautifully furnished.. The cottage was a retreat for Terry Thomas and there is interesting memorabilia on the walls. It is in a quiet, tranquil location which is perfect for rest and relaxation, with views of the sea and coastline. The owners are very friendly and leave a tasty welcome basket of goodies in the cottage for you. It has a garden area with a picnic table and two reclined seats, where you can eat or just sit and enjoy the birdsong and occasionally be entertained by the local chickens. The local area is beautiful, with bays full of rock pools to explore and some very good eateries. Within short walking distance (though the walk back is uphill) is the Boat Cafe, where you can sample a delicious lunch or tea. It is only a short drive to Hele Bay and Ilfracombe for places to eat in the evening. I recommend the Hele Bay pub for excellent service and very nice food and the Grampus Inn in Lee, which is the other side of Ilfracombe, especially for a lovely lunch after exploring the rock pools in Lee Bay. I would definitely visit the area again and stay in Tom's Cottage.

The cottage was quite charming with views of the sea.. The bedroom is huge and the bed is very comfy. Loved the memorabilia of Terry Thomas which is scattered around the cottage. You definitely need a car to get around and the cottage is up a steep hill so not good for people with limited mobility. Would recommend without hesitation.

Beautiful quirky cottage in a wonderful setting.. Spent a week with amazing weather just down the road from the village where we lived for eleven and a half year. Had a great time catching up with all our friends and neighbours and revisiting all the glorious places in North Devon.

We thought the cottage was beautiful ,we drew up outside a rose covered cottage ,inside was charming and elegant ,the tiled stair case very inviting to an amazing bedroom ,with a stunning view ,filled with light .. Every day we were greeted by cocks and hens a ginger cat and a couple of grumpy geese .The walk to the harbour suggested by our hostess was a joy ,I don't think we could have had a more perfect holiday

We had the most amazing holiday in this beautiful cottage with our 6 week old baby.. The views are incredible and being in the middle of a farm was lovely (chickens and geese outside your door!). It was also fantastic being able to get freshly baked pastries and bread at the campsite. The owners were incredibly helpful and really helped make the stat special. Would definitely recommend - we’re keen to return ourselves!

The holiday met all expectations of a Sykes holiday, we have used them before and know to expect quality.. The cottage was excellent, and the owmers were very friendly and keen to know that everything was ok, and we had no problems. The area provided plenty for us to do, mainly walking for us, but indoor activities too.

Very enjoyable holiday and location.. The accommodation very good standard with excellent sea views. Rather steep incline so only suitable to those who are fairly fit. Ilfracombe nearby and accessible by car. You can walk to the nearest restaurant but quite a trek. Costal path is 5-10 minute walk supermarket 15 minute drive.

Beautiful sea views from the cottage from both the lounge and the bedroom. It was very relaxing, but also a good base for seeing local attractions. Some parts of the cottage had a Mediterranean feel e.g. the staircase. It was lovely and clean and we would definitely recommend it.
