• "We have just stayed at Cedar Holme for nearly 3 weeks, whilst having some work done at home."

  Simone and Dave made us very welcome, the cottage was spotless and really well equipped, and Simone provided an enormous array of lovely treats, as well as tea, coffee, milk and orange juice - very much appreciated. There was even a bag of treats for our dog! The cottage is situated in a quiet and peaceful spot, with fabulous views across open fields at the back. Thanks again Simone, and thanks also to Debbie for cleaning the cottage during our stay.

• "We spent the xmas week here seeking peace and tranquility and that is just what we got!"

  It was a beautiful lodge, well appointed with everything we needed and more, Simone had decorated it for xmas which made it extra special, with a lovely welcome tray with biscuits/chocolates/chutney. There was milk and ornage juice in the fridge and lots of tea and coffee, and even xmas stocking for our dog Bobby. Location was perfect for us, we would definitely stay again. It made our xmas just what the doctor ordered after a tough year healthwise. Thank you to Simone & Dave who were lovely friendly hosts. Highly recommended!

• "Really high quality accommodation and great location - we stayed in Dec so didn’t want to be in the middle of nowhere, Wingerworth very handy for shops, pubs and park for the dog."

  Simone provided milk, orange juice, tea, coffee, bottled water, plus a lovely welcome pack and treats for Cocoa too! Thoughtful touches throughout the property, (Xmas tree too). Lovely views across to Chesterfield. Honestly I can’t see how anyone could be disappointed with Cedar Holme.

  Had everything we needed for our break & the welcome packs for both us & our dog were much appreciated. Stunning views & local shop, park and pub within 10-15 minute walk. Bus stop on main road outside property should you wish to leave car behind. Definitely be visiting again.

• "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cedar Holme, the property was immaculate, well equipped and squeaky clean."

  The location was ideal for visiting Derbyshire and the Peak District and we used the OS map provided to explore the back roads and pretty villages. The host, Simone, was very welcoming and helpful with local information, and the treats and toiletries left for us were unexpected and most generous. I would not hesitate to recommend this property.

  There was also a very generous welcome pack much more than we have received at previous properties, also one for the dog. There was a lovely view from the lawn across the fields to Chesterfield and the nearby wood was very good for walking the dog.The owner Simone was very pleasant and helpful, no one could really ask for more.

  Comfy beds, the cottage is warm and cosy and a friendly owner who lives nearby. The location is good for Chatsworth and surrounding areas. Nearby are a local village shop, pubs with good food and a local chippie!

  It is the best equipped cottage we have stayed at. Also most generous welcome pack, by far- dog treats really appreciated by Lucy the cocker spaniel.   The property was extremely well appointed with superb views overlooking Chesterfield, all the fixtures and fittings are top quality, the Beds are extremely comfortable. • "Lovely property, we received a friendly greeting from Simone the owner and one of the best welcome packs we have ever had."

  The accommodation was immaculate and clean. There was plenty of storage areas and the bed and settee were very comfortable, (fantastic nights sleep). Lovely gardens outside and beautiful views over the surrounding countryside. There are lovely walks close by to woods, park, children's play area and nearby lake and pond. The cottage is ideally situated to visit local area particularly enjoyed our visit to Bakewell town and Chatsworth House.

• "This was our first visit to Cedar Holme and I can only describe it a superb."

  The property is all on one floor which was important as one of our party was my 90 year old mother. Cedar Home is very well equipped, spotlessly clean and very well situated. The owner, Simone, made us very welcome and supplied us with a superb welcome package for us and Maggie our German Shepherd. I can personally recommend anybody thinking of visiting the area that Cedar Holme will make a perfect base.

  Spotlessly clean. Fully equipped to a high standard including quality bedding and towels. Really warm and cosy home from home, adjustable heating. Great shower, beds and seating very comfy. • "This Cottage is Home from home and done to a very high standard."

  Every need is catered for and the view over Chesterfield a delight. The greeting from the owner was warm & friendly and the welcome pack much appreciated. We had family in Chesterfield and they were nearby, which was great as we did not have transport. There is a bus stop opposite and a shop just down the road. We had a wonderful week with family and would definitely stay in this wonderful cottage again.

• "The cottage is amazing and on top of hill so view across farm land is beautiful."

  However, it is also well positioned for Chesterfield and the Peak District. The owners are so kind, welcoming and friendly it feels like your going to visit friends. I made a suggestion first time I visited that would help me as I'm disabled. The next time, I visited it had been implemented and helps me and disabled or the older person. Nothing is too much effort. Thank you to them for their assistance.

• "Came away as a birthday treat and we have all had a wonderfully relaxing time, weather has not been the best but we have still managed some nice walks in the locality."

  Have eaten out twice, firstly at The Smithy Pond, we also ate at the Barley Mow which were both very nice. Cedar Holme is a lovely cottage with character and in a lovely position ( would be just great in summer). Everything you may need is provided by the owner Simone with her lovely boy Lewis. • "Perfect property in a perfect location."

  We were supplied with everything we could possibly need and more, rooms were spotlessly clean and we were made to feel very welcome. Such a peaceful place to get away for a few days and relax. • "Wonderful stay in a brilliantly secluded and quiet setting (apart from the owls in the evening which we loved!"

  ) Very peaceful break, and our puppy loved exploring the woods nearby. Lots of great day trips accesible from Cedar Holme as a hub. We cannot recommend the nearby Figaro highly enough for fellow vegan / veggie guests. Hunloke arms also has lots of great options and HUGE, delicious pizzas. The cottage had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean. We were very sad to leave!

• "This is the 2nd time stopping at this beautiful cottage."

  It is comfortable clean and has beautiful views across the valley. The people are extremely friendly and helpful which makes you feel very welcome. As I'm disabled I suggested a grab rail in the shower & I was so pleased they had installed one since our last visit so proves feedback helps us as well as them. Will definitely stay there again.

• "Lovely comfortable stay."

  Ideal for our plans to visit Chatsworth House and the tram museum. Only there for three nights but would stay longer another time. Added benefit was the stunning views. Everything you could need is provided and the generous welcome pack was appreciated. Maybe some stronger hooks on doors to hang towels, didn't want to chance the plastic ones..... minor, minor concern!

• "What a little gem, so clean & tidy with everything you need to make your stay very enjoyable."

  We were made to feel at home from the moment we arrived. The welcome basket not only had treats for us but also for our dog. The natural beauty around the property was fantastic with a woods next door & a wonderful park just 5 minutes up the road. The property is only 30/ 40 minutes drive from Matlock & most places of interest were around 45 minutes which makes it an ideal place to stay. 5* all around.

  . it’s a ‘home from home’, with everything we could possibly want. It’s lovely and clean, even tho its dog friendly..which we like.   K. Cedar Holme is one of only a handful of outstanding properties in which we have stayed. The accommodation is cleaned and maintained to an excellent standard. The welcome was warm in every sense given Storm Eunice was blowing . Beds and lounge furniture are extremely comfortable . A well appointed dining area and kitchen were appreciated. • "This recently renovated house is spacious and very clean and comfortable."

  It has been furnished to a high standard and is very well equipped. We had a very enjoyable and relaxing week exploring the nearby Peak District and also the very friendly village of Wingerworth which boasts two very nice pubs, both of which are in walking distance of Cedar Holme. The owner made us feel very welcome and the welcome baskets for both humans and dogs were over and above any we’d received in previous properties. • "The owner has created a home away from home at the lodge."

  She was very helpful in all sorts of ways and the lodge is easily the best of the dozen or so cottages we have used in the past nine years. The only thing that would have made it better for us oldies would have been footstools in the lounge and hooks behind the bedroom doors.
