Housed in a former Methodist chapel, built in 1893 – this home has been lovingly transformed by your friendly host, Lynne. This place oozes character and charm – we particularly love the pretty arched shaped feature window which overlooks the village of Tideswell's beautiful church and cottages. When the Derbyshire weather is warm, relax on the outdoor sofa with a glass of wine in the garden, surrounded by flowers. Whip up some cucumber sandwiches for afternoon tea in the stylish kitchen with its marble style worktops. Or, if you don't fancy eating in, you'll find three pubs, a restaurant, several cafes, a takeaway sandwich shop, and a couple of fish and chip shops in the village, around a five-minute stroll away. There's also a range of stores such as a bakery, pharmacy, post office, greengrocers and bookshop to browse too. Or visit the beautiful 14th century St John the Baptist Church here. A little further afield, there's the thermal spa town of Buxton, and the stunning Chatsworth House, home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, both a twenty-minute drive away.

Home truths

There are three steps up to an entrance porch which leads to a further two steps to the lounge – something to bear in mind if you have limited mobility.

Bedroom two has a zip and link super king-sized bed, which can made up as a twin bedroom upon request. The duvets are feather and down.

The water pressure here isn't the strongest.

Toiletries aren't provided, so you'll need to bring your own.

If you need to sleep more guests, there's an additional self-contained apartment, sleeping two, with a separate private entrance on the lower floor of this chapel – just ask.

This home is in an apartment building – you might hear noise from neighbours during your stay.

Parking here is better suited to smaller vehicles.

About The Peak District

The Peak District is England and Wales’ oldest national park, and its varied landscapes are a clue as to why the region was the first to be bestowed with the distinction. The park’s diversity can be appreciated by taking the time to explore both the so-called Dark Peak to the north, where you’ll find acres of moorland stretching out in front of you, and the limestone gorges and valleys of...
