Holiday home The Studio is a wonderful, stone-built cottage beside the owners' home, in the heart of Parwich, a charming village in the south of the Peak District National Park. The accommodation is mostly set over the ground floor, comprising an open plan living area with a kitchen, a dining area and a sitting area with a woodburner. There is also a shower room and on the mezzanine level, there is a king-size double bedroom overlooking the sitting area. Outside, enjoy alfresco dining in the private, lawned garden to the rear of the property. You will also find off road parking for one car. With great walking and cycling opportunities nearby, The Studio is a wonderful, romantic retreat for couples seeking a relaxed getaway exploring this fabulous area.
Accomodation Details Mostly ground floor. One mezzanine king-size double bedroom. Small shower room with shower, basin and WC. Open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area with woodburning stove.
Area Surrounded by lush green countryside, Parwich is a charming village which dates back to Saxon times. It has a picturesque old church, village green, a country pub and a village hall. The area is a delight for cyclists and walkers, with the nearby Manifold Trail, a tarmac path that follows the old Leek to Manifold light railway, providing the perfect opportunity to explore the countryside. The route has been open since the 1930s, when the railway closed, and was probably the first disused railway to be utilised in this way. Nearby are the lovely villages of Alstonefield, Ilam and Brassington, and activities such as golf, horse riding and sailing are all within a seven mile radius. Chatsworth House and Carsington Waters are also close by, making Parwich a great base for a family holiday.
Region The ultimate in "year-round" appeal, the Peak District offers countryside, picturesque villages and magnificent scenery. It touches upon six counties and encloses 555 square miles of open moorland, flowing rivers, and wooded dales.
Amenities Oil central heating with woodburning stove. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, TV with Freeview, DVD, WiFi. Fuel, power and starter pack for stove inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Off road parking for 1 car. Lawned garden with furniture. One well-behaved dog welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shop and pub 2 mins walk. Note: Mezzanine bedroom accessed directly from stairs and has a sloped ceiling. Note: Babes-in-arms only.

We had a wonderful time at The Studio.. The cottage is very cosy, comfortable and comes fully equipped. We were lucky to enjoy a few dry days, so we had the chance also to enjoy the garden, which is lovely. Parwich is a beautiful village, calm and quaint without being overtly touristy, and a perfect location to go for walks or drive to other sites in the Peak District. Tracy-Ann and her family were great hosts: warm and welcoming without being intrusive. We highly recommend it, and we will definitively be back!

I would not call it comfortable.. Clothes dryer didn't work and there was no other substitute, the heating was only on in the early morning and early evening which is not sufficient for comfort - the wood heater cannot heat the cottage. There was half eaten food in the coffee cups in the cupboard. The bathroom is really very uncomfortable, really tiny and very, very awkward. I would not recommend this cottage and I don't think the description is fair or accurate.

We had a warm welcome from our hosts, Simon and Tracy-Ann (and Bert! ). The Studio is ideally located for walks being close to Dovedale and Tissington and was fine for two of us plus Poppy, the Labrador.
There are good shopping facilities at Ashbourne, which is within seven miles and where both Waitrose and M&S have large food stores.

We found it so easy to search & pay for a Sykes property.. The Studio was just as advertised & just what we were looking for: small, warm, cosy, a little quirky & we could take the dog too!
The owner was there to welcome us but left us to it during our stay.
The property was well equipped & there was local information. We appreciated the lack of notices / rules which we have found stuck around other properties.
We would recommend Sykes Cottages & The Studio

My wife and I had this lovely cottage for a long weekend without the kids. the village is a nice little remote village without mobile signal which is just wahat we wanted. The accommodation is spot on and all things ahve been considered. The owners Tracey_Ann and Simon have done a cracking job and are very friendly and welcoming without being intrusive. The local pub served good food and good beer with a relaxed atmosphere, all locals were friendly and spoke to us.
We will be returning for another weekend in the future definitely.

The cottage is wonderful, the village is small, quiet and Friendly.. The owners, Tracey-Ann and Simon are welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. The accommodation is finished to an excellent standard and is the right side of not being too polished to lose it's charm. We had a brilliant three nights here and it was a much needed break. We will definitely visit again and both thoroughly recommend it to people looking to get away.
