  • "We really enjoyed our time at Queen Ann’s Close."

House was very clean and comfortable, very well equipped kitchen and comfy beds. Lots of parking. Great location with a lovely walk across the hills to a lush pub in Chinley. Only 2 minor criticisms, keep more firewood in the cellar and put a blind on the landing window if the light is an issue with neighbour. All in all, excellent, would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

The property

Chapel-en-le-Frith 1.5 miles.

Queen Ann's Close is a fabulous, roomy stone cottage enjoying a soothing countryside location situation in the Wash, a small village between the picturesque village of Chinley and the market town of Chapel-en-le-Frith in the Peak District.

This Victorian era building served it's country well as a parachute factory in World War II.

It was also previously owned by the General Manager of the Daily Mail, and many famous people stayed there to protect that all important scoop.

Encompassed by the Peak District National Park and a wealth of fascinating towns, this luxury accommodation is a perfect base for a memorable break with family groups only.

Situated down a quiet country lane, enter the property into its immaculate and contemporary kitchen, a spacious layout with stylish clay tone units and a charming breakfast table to enjoy your morning coffee.

The refreshing, open layout takes you into the rustic, very social dining room featuring a double-faced woodburning stove in its stunning redbrick fireplace.

The traditional wooden floorboards lead to the heart-warming sitting room; vintage leather sofas and plenty of beanbags make this a wonderful spot to kick back with the TV on and living flame fire ablaze.

The first floor presents five beautifully furnished bedrooms including two benefiting from luscious en-suites and an elegant four poster bedroom.

There is also a simply remarkable family bathroom, finished with quirky tiles, a luxurious claw foot slipper bath and a double walk-in shower, a real touch of class.

The interior concludes wonderfully with a thoughtful children's room, complete with six single beds, cosy seating and a wall-mounted TV.

Summertime is also well-catered for here at Queen Ann's Close as the cottage offers extensive, well-maintained gardens to sit back in and embrace this wonderful rural setting.Chapel-en-le-Frith is a fantastic Peak District base offering a cobbled market place with plenty of amenities to make the most of.The delightful village Chinley is walking distance and the trendy pubs and restaurants at Hayfield a mere 5-minute drive in the car.

The house is 5 miles away from the stunning spa town of Buxton and on the border of the glorious Peak District National Park, both offering a range of activities and facilities to take advantage of.

Queen Ann's Close is a fabulously unique property in an excellent Peak District location.
