On arrival at pine cottage after climbing over weeds to get in the door we were greeted by the carbon monoxide alarm going off We immediately got in touch with Sykes who sent gas fitter,it appeared the alarm going off was out of date 2012. When the fitter arrive he was very rude and shouted who are you on the phone to. There was apparently a new one fitted but was not put where he left it unnatached. That got sorted then cooker was rusty inside, The knobs were very greasy,a beer glass with what appears to be weed's in yellow water in beer glass on kitchen sill. Cobwebs in lounge on fire and recess with light.sofa and chairs uncomfortable. Would have been a great view if you could see out of the blown windows upstairs and down.

Arrived at this property 14 th august ,starting looking for somewhere else to go immediately! Smells of urine dogs and human on the bathroom carpet, patio very overgrown and not safe for dogs or children , sofa appalling small cheap and uncomfortable sits 2 , 2 small bedroom chairs so nowhere to really relax after a long day out, coupled with the urine stained chairs not a nice experience. Would of left if we could of but would of lost our money , had to make do with buying lots of smelly candles and air fresheners.they do have enough cutlery for a dinner party but would need to bring your own chairs! The owners obviously have never stayed here or done anything for years , an insult to take peoples money !!

A lovely little cottage with stunning view.. In general it was clean, but when we arrived the dustbin was full, as was the food waste bin. There were instructions on how to dispose of recycling at local sites, but no indication when bin day was. We had to find out the information on-line. Also we had to call the property agent as there was a serious leak from the toilet waste pipe, which, judging from the staining on the ceiling below, looked like it had been a problem for some time. However they were quick to rectify. The wi-fi signal was intermittent.

Lovely cottage and location.. Unfortunately internet not available as listed for most of week, reported it on 3rd day. Also seating in lounge could of been more comfortable following a long days walking.

The cottage was quaint and mostly as expected.. When we arrived just inside the front door it was clear someone had been painting as there was paint pot, brush and sheet in the front porch as well as a strong smell of fresh paint. We put the bits under the stairs to get them our of the way. There also was no working bulb in the upstairs landing light. We didn't like the fact that there is no bin to put your recycling rubbish in and are asked to take it away with you (We're meant to be on holiday). And the hand held shower is a pain but useable. And there is a massive cobweb that has not been cleaned by the fireplace. Otherwise we loved it there. It was very cozy and comfortable. It makes a good base for exploring matlock bath. Everything else was clean and well maintained. The sofa could be a little bigger/comfort but ok for what it is. We had a lovely time here.
