We have just returned from a lovely week at Andlestone. The accommodation was everything we could have wished for: scrupulously clean, comfortable, tastefully decorated and furnished, and very well equipped. We loved the way this former chapel has been divided up. The open plan mezzanine area was light and airy. It was ideal for us to eat and socialise together as a family. The beds were super-comfortable. There was so much to do in the area that we couldn’t fit everything in. I have no doubt that we will be back.

I have just spent a week in the beautiful chapel Andlestone . The accommodation is very spacious and beautifully clean. We were greeted with a delicious cake. The property is in the perfect place to explore the Peak District of Derbyshire. The property has been tastefully updated and has plenty of room for a family. The upstairs is beautiful with the original chapel window still in place. The large room has a dining table and comfy seating area as well as a modern kitchen. Three bedroom and two bedrooms downstairs. The village of Birchdale is very quiet, it has two pubs that both offer delicious food. I hope to return for another stay in the future.

This is such a charming place to stay. It’s obviously the owners have put a lot of care, attention and love into the sensitive restoration of the chapel. Everything you could possibly wish for was provided. It’s such a great base for exploring the surrounding countryside but also for going a little further afield to neighbouring attractions. We’ll be back for sure.

We loved staying at Andlestone. The chapel is charming and has a very homely feel to it. The airy kitchen/dining/sitting area has everything you need, including extras such as books, games, and DVDs for those rainy times (this is the UK after all ). The bedrooms are tastefully furnished, and after insisting on trying them all, our 7-year-old can attest that the beds are very comfy. He also enjoyed his daily visits to the playground/football field which is just across the road. What we also found particularly handy is the spacious entrance hall and its abundance of coatracks. They made it easy to keep things tidy and organised after a day out. Birchover as well as its neighbouring villages are beautiful and offer varying opportunities for walks and a bit of rock climbing/cave exploring. We enjoyed popping by The Druid Inn and The Red Lion for some dinner, a pint or cream tea. As for getting around the area, we can recommend using public transport. We didn’t have a car but there was really no need for it. The bus between Matlock and Bakewell comes past Birchover every 2 hours and is very reliable. In Bakewell there are more buses you can change onto if you want to explore other areas of the Peak District. All in all we had a wonderful week in Andlestone. It has everything we needed, and more! The only negative is that our 7-year-old keeps asking when we will go back. Luckily us grown-ups wouldn’t mind at all

Had three nights at Andlestone and loved it. The open plan kitchen-diner-lounge is a really sociable space with plenty of seating and suited us down to the ground. Close to two pubs - food at the Red Lion was really good. A really good local walk starts just down the road. Nice welcome treat of biscuits, wine and milk. Top marks all round!
