  • "I had a wonderful break over Christmas at Appletree Cottage with my husband and greyhound - it was decorated beautifully and the welcome present and card made us feel right at home."

The cottage is very comfortable, the kitchen very well equipped, great walks from the door - would highly recommend.

We are very pleased you enjoyed your Christmas break and thank you so much for your lovely comments. It was much appreciated that you left the cottage so tidy and we hope you will visit again soon. Happy New Year. Property Owner

  • "We are quite local to the area and stayed here for a few weeks whilst waiting for our new build to be completed, so we didn’t really use it as a holiday cottage (had to go to work!"

}. We really enjoyed our stay, the house was lovely and spacious with a large garden which we made use of when we had the hottest day of the year! The communication from the owner was excellent and kept checking in on us during our stay to see if everything was ok and whether we needed anything. All in all a lovely stay and would definitely recommend for holidaymakers wishing to explore the area.

Thank you for such positive comments we really appreciate your feedback. All the best with the new house. Mark and Tara Property Owner

  • "Unfortunately we do not recommend a stay at Appletree Cottage."

The main reason for this is the beds. The double bed has a foam mattress. Only this is so sturdy that it literally feels like you're lying on a board. We therefore moved to the other bedroom halfway through the first night. However, the mattresses in this room are not much better. High in the middle because of the springs, only a few centimeters thick on the sides. So every time you turn over you practically roll out of bed. As a result, you don't really get a good night's sleep. The cottage itself has been refurbished and decorated with much love and attention. Yet you notice that the owner himself has never camped there for a week, because there are quite a few points that could be improved. • There is a smart TV in the living room, but it will not connect to the WiFi in any way. So watching Netflix is not an option. • The central heating is off in the summer. But that also means that the towel rail in the bathroom is off, so towels don't dry and you have to dry off with wet towels. • There are not enough plates, so you actually have to run the dishwasher every day because you keep getting wrong, especially on plates. The cylinder of the front door is loose and the closing mechanism of the front door does not feel very reliable.

Thank you for taking the time to give your feedback and we appreciate your 100% score for cleanliness. The memory foam mattress gives a medium firm support , however we are very sad to hear that you were unable to get a comfortable night's sleep. We regularly stay at the property to check on the maintenance and will investigate the front door lock. There are a minimum of 6 place settings together with 12 mugs, assorted glasses and serving bowls which we do feel is sufficient for 2/4 guests. Apologies if the Cottage information book was not prominent as this has a wealth of information in it together with the wifi password and both our mobile numbers and that of the local housekeeper should you have needed any assistance. It is our priority that all our guests have a comfortable stay and we hope you were still able to enjoy all the area has to offer. Property Owner
