The cottage was great.. Extremely clean and really well equipped, the kitchen was great and had everything we could have needed. The owners were extremely helpful and had some very good recommendations and knew the area well. They left a bottle of wine as a welcome which was a lovely touch The village itself has everything you need too, few pubs, cafes, bakery and shop. We'd never been to the peak district before so we were really impressed and Bakewell and Castleton were only a short drive away too so it made for a very good base for our long weekend! We would love to come back again.

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely cottage. The cottage is spotless and furnished to a very high standard. The kitchen is modern and very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The pretty village of Tideswell is an excellent base to explore the Peaks, with several pubs, tea rooms and a supermarket, look no further. We will definitely be returning to this 4-star accommodation.

We loved our stay in this beautiful cottage! It was spotlessly clean on arrival. It had everything we needed and more! Perfect location for exploring the Peak District. Fish and chips and pubs short walks away. The owners are extremely helpful and friendly. Parking right outside with no issue. We would stay again for sure!

Lovely cosy cottage in the centre of Tideswell.. Close to a couple of pubs that do food and right in the middle of walking country. A lovely bolthole.

The cottage was immaculately clean and the owner was incredibly helpful, friendly and hospitable.. We thoroughly enjoyed celebrating our wedding anniversary there and would certainly return. Tideswell is delightful, we did some beautiful walks straight from the village and ate well at the George (excellent vegan curry), The Merchant's Yard for a proper celebration and The Anchor on Sunday evening. Don't miss the Horse and Jockey for a good pint of real ale.

August 2019
This cottage is very central to the Dales, we had beautiful walks without even taking the car out.. There is everything you need in Tideswell, 3 pubs to choose from, and one in neighbouring Litton which we revisited lots, a Co-op, fish & chip shops, all good. This Cottage is very comfortable, home from home. We just wish the traffic from Suffolk was easier for travelling to and from Derbyshire!

We decided on the lovely village of Tideswell as it had everything we were looking for, local shops, lovely little pubs and some great restaurants. Its a great base for seeing the best of the Peak District. The cottage had everything we needed and more, in-fact we could not think of a single thing we needed at all. Super clean throughout with 2 good sized bedrooms a great kitchen and a fantastic shower room. We will definitely be back next year.

June 2019
This is a beautifully kept cottage, the kitchen is especially nice.. The living room is small and would struggle to fit four adults comfortably but if you’re using it as a base to be out and about then it’s perfect. The owners have left lots of items for you including binoculars and a wooden walking stick if required. Only thing I think to mention is if you are two people staying but require separate rooms, then make this known when booking. We arrived to find the second bedroom was not made up as it was assumed a two person booking was a couple (we were but that’s besides the point). I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this property to those looking for a Peak District Base for a few days.

A particularly clean & well-appointed cottage, which made up for the very disappointing experience we had with the last Sykes cottage in Wales..

The cottage was a perfect base for exploring the peak district.. The cottage was cosy and had all the facilities we needed including a modern kitchen with everything required and a modern bathroom. We really enjoyed walks from the cottage around Tideswell and the central location in the Peak District. The owners were really friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

We found this cottage very comfortable, very warm and homely.. A very good location for us with a co-op, pubs, and most importantly lovely walks which we mostly did from the cottage with our border collie. The owner was very kind to leave us a bottle of wine, and tea and coffee etc for us until we could get to the shops.

The cottage was really cozy and nicely decorated.. We could not have asked a better place to spend our mini holiday. We enjoyed the village as well. Really good walking paths and connections to other sights.

We had a lovely time staying at the cottage.. The village is fab and the people we met there were very friendly. The cottage is small but very cleverly arranged and worked very well for three of us. It was spotlessly clean and very warm. Although we didn't meet the owners in person, they were extremely helpful and welcoming. Would recommend.

October 2018
There were a few things that could have helped: the small bedroom really was very small, no bedside light, which was a real minus.. One small bath towel not quite enough. There was no information on how the microwave and dishwasher worked. I know these are small things..... We did enjoy our visit and glad to have found a replacement after Bluebell Cottage being cancelled at the last minute!

Lovely hosts who greeted us and we were able to get into the cottage before check in time.. Clean, tidy and welcoming. Good location for walks and local pubs.

So impressed by this little place! The cottage was spacious yet cosy and absolutely spotless, we felt right at home and didn't want to leave! The whole process from booking, to contacting the owners, to arrival and departure was so easy. We'll definitely be back but for longer next time!

The cottage was very conveniently set in the centre of Tideswell, walking distance from the cafes, pubs and shops.. The cottage was newly, and beautifully, renovated and the owners extremely kind and thoughtful. The area is beautiful, with fabulous walks within a short drive (nice walks also from the house itself) and lots of places of historical and geographical interest nearby.

Entry was difficult because no emails had been answered and we had to phone the company when we arrived.. Not a good start. We feel that for £320 a night for 4 people, we should have had a luxury stay. There was no milk or welcome food pack (eg small loaf, jam, butter, milk to make a small breakfast). The website states entry after 3am and leave before 10am (very early for 4 people with one bathroom on a Sunday!) - not long enough considering the price paid. The shower door and other areas were not very clean and there were no toiletries in the shower area except a bottle of hand washing liquid near the sink and an empty can of air freshener! We had to use that to shower because we thought there would at least be shower gel. There was one hand towel between 4 people! Although the cottage was in a lovely position, for the price charged we expected more luxuries. If we wanted cheap and cheerful, we could have booked that type of accommodation and it would have included a breakfast and probably more facilities. ************************* Owner Response******************************** Thank you for taking the time to submit feedback. June 2018
We had a lovely time and were really lucky to arrive at the end of Tideswell's 'Wake's Week'.. We joined a torchlight procession that passed the cottage on Saturday night. The owners were vey friendly and explained everything we needed to know on the telephone and even left a bottle of Shiraz to welcome us. The cottage was a great base for visiting Buxton Castleton, Bakewell and Matlock. The kitchen was very swish and we enjoyed using the outdoor seating area overlooking the Market Square.

Tideswell is a favourite place with all one would want within or nearby - walks, facilities, shops, pubs with good food and real life! The accommodation is convenient with parking good in Market Square. Situated on on three floors it is so well presented - even one of us who has an allergy to dog fur etc never had to take a piriton because it is so well cleaned and cared for. The owners have taken care from the crockery to the duvets and the hangers work!

We have just returned to Tideswell and decided to try a different end of this surprisingly large village. The cottage was easy to fine, and access via coded key box was easy. The kitchen on the ground floor has been very tastefully updated and we enjoyed a number of home cooked meals, including Bramley Apples bought from the small local grocer. Bathroom on the 1st floor was great, excellent shower. Living room on 1st floor nice and comfortable, wifi was fast once we found the device behind the TV and turned it on (critical for us traveling from Oz). Bedroom on the 3rd floor was roomy and bed very comfortable. The character of the cottage was great. The 2 flights of stairs were fine for exercising our quads, which we felt after a couple of days hiking down to Cressbrook and Monsal Dale/riding the Monsal trail. The Peak District is a stunning area, and Tideswell is a terrific place to stay, this cottage was great, full of character yet all mod cons.

What a beautiful little cottage in a beautiful village and welcoming owners that couldn't do enough for us, the house is immaculate and brand new interior and kitchen and stunning bathroom.. Ideal location with Buxton and bakewell 15 min either way. I deal for couples or small family's and our dog was also made welcome. We can't thank the owners enough for a lovely stay and will definitely be booking again soon. Also recommend the star inn for Sunday dinner, to die for!! 1 min walk, other pubs, shops, cute cafes, chip shop , church just round corner, highly recommend this rental and location!!
