  • "Lovely cosy cottage - well kept and nice and clean."

Well located - parking is on the street only and near a bend but we managed to park 2 cars safely a little further up the road for the whole 3 nights we were there. Beds are comfy, lots of hot water, kitchen well appointed. Living room seating comfy and shower/bathrooms very nicely done out. Lovely welcome pack (milk included - very useful) and Tassimo coffee machine. Beautiful view from the front of the house. Outside area at the back is all concrete or pebbled and has several sets of steps - so not the greatest for old doggies. FOR THE OWNER/MANGERS ONLY 1) would recommend providing more information (or control?) on using the heating - the house was VERY cold when we arrived - and while it was easy to increase the thermostat to a higher temperature, there was some strange "timing" thing going on where I think it only put the heating on for 2 hours. then cut back to the lower 14 degrees that it was set to on arrival. There were no real instructions - only "turn the thermostat to increase the temperature". Once warmed up though the house was generally very warm (with the exception of the kitchen). 2) the living room lights were a nightmare! I think some (or perhaps all) of the bulbs are non-dimmable as the lights flicker terribly - unless you have them on really really bright or really really low which makes it very dim indeed. That was perhaps the most inconvenient thing during our visit. 3) At the bottom of the front door, there is a rain protector piece - this is coming loose and needs lifting up sometimes to enable the door to be closed. if it drops the door just won't close - just needs re-sticking or attaching so it sits closer to the door. 4) there was no way (we could find) of operating the outside lights - would be useful for when returning in the dark. 5) It would be useful to have a small bedside table in the single room - I ended up taking a dining chair upstairs to use. lastly - the right hand socket of the double outlet in the main bedroom (next to the single room) is faulty - it either doesn't work, or sometimes a lower voltage comes out and the electricity fluctuates. the outlet by the wardrobe door.
