Rock cottage sits a 2 minute walk above Bakewell. Location is perfect. Parking for one car, we have a large 4x4 and there was plenty of room directly outside the cottage. The cottage was spotlessly clean. The owner should be very proud. The lovely lady also leaves a welcome pack which includes a posh bottle of something and yummy biscuits. Bed linen, toilet rolls, kitchen essentials including tea, coffee and sugar are all waiting for you, there is even milk in the fridge. The bed was made up and the en-suite is large and the shower big enough for two 80). Even the neighbours are lovely. Dogs are allowed. It was our second visit and we will be back. If you are looking to stay in Bakewell this should be the cottage you pick.

The cottage was in a fantastic location and contains everything you need to have a fantastic break in the Peaks! The owners were so considerate ensuring we had milk on arrival and with our break beginning on Good Friday even leaving us an Easter Egg! The walk down into the village is steep however don't let that put you off! We will definitely be back if we return to Bakewell!

Rock Cottage is the perfect base for a great holiday in Bakewell and the surrounding areas.. Whilst the cottage is set over three floors, and is in an elevated position (definitely not suitable for those with restricted mobility) we enjoyed the views this provided and had no problem walking the short distance to the town in the evening for pubs and restaurants. The owners have done a superb job in decorating and furnishing the cottage, it was immaculate and very much a warm, comfortable place to come back to after a day out. We would definitely consider staying at Rock Cottage on future visits to the Peak District.

We really enjoyed staying in Rock cottage.. It is set on a quiet hill, set above Bakewell town centre. Lovely, spotlessly clean, cottage, with comfy bed and parking.

Beautiful cottage, fantastic views, extremely clean and well equipped.. Perhaps not suitable for people with walking problems as it is up a steep hill and there are also 3 floors in the cottage, bathroom on the top floor. None of this was a problem to us and being high up gave us the views. Definitely would recommend it and go back again.

We really enjoyed our week stay in Bakewell and this cottage was a big part of the reason. It is very comfortable with all the basic requirement catered for. It has a good bed, good shower and good kitchen. They also allow dogs which was essential for us. Also easy parking in the allocated spot right outside the front door. The cottage is a short walk (5 mins) into Bakewell which gives access to several nice pubs, cafes and shops. There is also a large Co-Op and a Spar in town if needed. It should be noted however that there is a steep walk up to the cottage from the town. Its a great area for walking with many walks starting in Bakewell so no need to drive. The owners were very friendly and little touches like having milk in the fridge when you get there are appreciated.I would have no hesitation is recommending this cottage.

Wow wow and wow.. A beautiful cottage with super views. The cottage was so clean you could eat off the floor (if that’s your thing lol). The location was ideal and even the neighbours were lovely. We have already booked again for next year. There is not a thing that needs changing, adding or doing to this lovely get away. Unpack and drink wine on the terrace over looking Bakewell is the only order of the day.

As this was our second booking through Skye Cottages ( our first at Lake Windermere) we were excited and had good expectations of the property after a positive first experience.. Before arriving the owner was very gracious and friendly. When we arrived the parking space was vacated and the keylock easy to navigate. The Property was cosy, clean and everything the description had said, which is not always the case so it was nice to see. All facilities were good, extras like maps of the local areas, tv and wifi helped immensely on a wet bank holiday weekend. Local amenities were good and were recommended in the welcome folder, which proved very useful. Overall, the simple small touches, cleanliness, cosiness and tranquillity of the place was fantastic. We would definitely recommend this place to friends and family.

We booked for an easter break only to find out that we were the first to stay here. The owners, Jacquie and her husband, were waiting for us to arrive to show us around and they were so proud of their place - and rightly so it was amazing down to the last detail. I could not recommend staying here enough and our dog thoroughly loved the treats in the tin! So thank you so much for a wonderful stay and we will be back to stay again I have no doubt.

A very clever conversion of a property on a spectacular site.. It is very well equipped and immaculately presented. An ideal base both for touring around ,shopping and pubs etc.

This cottage was one of the best in the 15 years (2 or 3 a year) we have stayed in.. The only SLIGHT negative is the VERY steep hill up from the town. If, like me you have joint or breathing problems this cottage is not not you. A mention of this really needs to be listed in the overall description of the cottage as is the 3 flights of stairs in the property. Overall FIRST CLASS.
