Holiday Rental Description

Lying at the southern end of the Peak District, Thorpe is an idyllic, peaceful village, strategically situated to the gateway to Dovedale. Set in some of the most spectacular countryside in England, it is a great base from which to explore the Peak District National Park. Dovedale valley is a nature reserve that boasts ancient ash woodland, grasslands and an abundance of wildlife. Discover stunning walks from your doorstep, including Thorpe Cloud, Dovedale Stepping Stones and the water meadows of the River Dove. In the neighbouring picturesque market town of Ashbourne you can find a wonderful range of restaurants, cafes, family friendly pubs and independent shops. Also close by is Thor s Cave (6 miles), Carsington Water reservoir (8 miles), perfect for birdwatching, water sports, walking and cycling around its eight mile perimeter. Visit the Tissington and Manifold trails, a haven for walkers and cyclists (2 miles and 8 miles respectively), Chatsworth House and Gardens (18 miles) and the historic town of Bakewell (15 miles). For an adrenaline filled day, head to Alton Towers theme park or visit its imaginative waterpark to enjoy the tropical lagoon, promising family fun all year around (10 miles). A fantastic choice to host your family get together, this property enjoys spacious rooms, period features and a large garden. Step inside to a welcoming hall with plenty of space for coats and shoes. The hall guides you through to an impressive dining room with open fire, perfect for formal dinners. The dining table comfortably seats groups up to 12 if you have extra company joining you. A couple of steps down connects to a cosy lounge room also with an open fire for cosy winter evenings. After a day of walking around the local peaks, come back and head to the lounge with a hot drink and put your feet up in front of the fire, with plenty of sofas and armchairs arranged to accommodate the whole party and watch a family favourite film on the TV. Head into the stylish kitchen to cook up a classic dish with the help from the electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, microwave, washing machine and dishwasher. When it's time to serve, gather around the dining table and enjoy some good quality time with your loved ones, while planning where your holiday will take you in the coming days. When it s time to turn in there are five bedrooms to choose from. Off the dining room there is a private staircase to a master bedroom with sumptuous king size bed, its own seating area, electric fire and en suite shower room with shower and WC. From the hall, a second private staircase leads up to a twin bedroom, perfect for children. On the ground floor are the rest of the bedrooms; two further king size (one with vanity unit) and a single. These rooms have been individually decorated to provide unique characters and enjoy beautiful rural or garden views. The ground floor rooms share a bathroom with shower over bath and WC, and a further separate shower room and WC. Enjoy breakfast with a view of Thorpe pastures from the breakfast bar, before heading out on your adventures. There is a games room located just next to the house with table tennis and table football. Spend afternoons relaxing in the large garden or eating alfresco, with plenty of lawn space for children to enjoy running about and patio areas with ample seating to enjoy a BBQ or sit around the fire pit. There is ample off street parking for several cars.
