Area
Troutbeck, a small settlement in the Lake District, may be located between Windermere and Ambleside, not far from the Kirkstone Pass. The settlement consists of houses, cottages, and farms spread out along a winding lane enclosed by a drystone wall. Many of these structures, especially those on the northern end, date back to the 17th century, as evidenced by details like mullioned windows and large cylindrical chimneys. Windermere and Ambleside, two nearby towns, both attract many tourists and offer a wide variety of services. Take a boat ride on Lake Windermere and visit the Lakeside Aquarium or hike through Grizedale Forest Park. Children will love Bowness's 'World of Beatrix Potter,' where cutting-edge technology brings the author's beloved characters to life, while adults will appreciate perusing the museum's intriguing collection of boats ('Windermere Steamboat Museum'). Troutbeck is conveniently located near the Lakeland Mountains, Kendal, Keswick, and Coniston Water, so visitors can easily access everything that the region has to offer.

Region
Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.
