Area
A traditional Cumbrian market town with a charter granted in 1262, which still holds a market each Friday in the covered market hall, along with an open air car boot sale which is held at Silloth. Wigton is a popular centre for shopping, pubs and restaurants, and also boasts a theatre, bowls, swimming, tennis and other sports. Lord Melvyn Bragg was a native of Wigton, and used the town (called Thurston in some of his writings) and the surrounding area as the setting for his novels including ‘A Time to Dance’. Located 18 miles from Penrith it is a good base for the attractions of the North Lakes, the cathedral city of Carlisle, 12 miles away, Keswick, just north of Derwentwater and close to Lake Bassenthwaite, and the natural beauty of the West Cumbrian Coast. Hadrian’s Wall is within 25 miles, while the Scottish Borders, and Gretna Green, are within easy reach.

Region
Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.

is place is amazing. Jemma and Gareth have thought of everything to make it an ideal dog friendly holiday. Everything is finished to a high standard for your comfort and the kitchen has all mod cons if you feel like cooking. The secure garden is large enough to exercise your dogs, plenty of parking space. We have already booked our next visit.

Such a wonderful relaxing stay. The house is so well equipped. Attention to details is amazing. Games room, enclosed garden, welcome goodies / essentials in the kitchen on arrival, comfortable bedrooms with dressing gowns and slippers! Everything including blankets and towels for dogs. Really friendly. Perfect enclosed garden for our puppy. Highly recommend

This is by far the nicest pet friendly holiday cottage I have ever stayed at. It is luxurious and extremely well equipped. I would 100% recommend to anyone visiting the lake district. Perfect for a family, 2 couples or a single couple with or without dogs. Excellent enclosed garden, 2 ensuite bathrooms, 2 separate living areas and everything you could want in the large kitchen/diner.
