Children will love the Lost Castle adventure playpark at the ruined Lowther Castle, 2.5 miles away. Urbanites will find a good mixture of high street and independent shops, as well as cafes, little pubs and restaurants 3 miles away in Penrith. Thrill seekers will find a world of opportunities in the Lake District's adventure capital Keswick, less than 20 miles away. With an extensive selection of outdoor activity companies based around here, find ghyll scrambling, mountain biking, indoor climbing, various water sports, and miles of walking in the fells. Sympathetically restored to retain many of its original features, a neutral palette is complimented with cosy furnishings to create a welcoming home from home. Step into the large entrance hallway, which also has double doors to the back patio, and discard muddy boots in the utility room, where there is a washing machine, freezer, and cloakroom with WC. The light and spacious kitchen has an electric fan oven, ceramic hobs, microwave, under counter fridge and dishwasher, and leads on to the lovely dining room, where a dining table seats six in front of a decorative fireplace. The delightful sunroom has two comfy armchairs overlooking the mature gardens and benefits from the evening sun, the perfect place to enjoy a good book and a glass of wine. In the evening, snuggle down on plush, leather sofas in front of the open fire in the living room, ending the day with a movie. Upstairs, the light and airy bathroom has a shower over the bath, whilst both bedrooms are elegantly decorated in subtle colours. The king size bedroom has views over the garden, whilst the twin room can be made into a super king size on request. Outside, the enclosed garden is busy with lawn, shrubs and trees and has been thoughtfully planted to offer year round colour. Perfect for soaking up the views of mighty Blencathra in the distance, start your morning with a coffee in the courtyard, enjoying the comings and goings of the birdlife that often visits the garden. There is parking for two cars on the gravel driveway.
