"We had a lovely stay at Portobello,so homely & very warm!"
!,had a problem with the shower,rang maintenance & it was sorted that day,nothing was to much trouble.Linden is a little village has a pub up the road,which was nice & within easy walking distance,& Linden itself very central,we did loads while staying here,Grange-Over-Sands,Cartmel,9Keswick,Ambleside,Windermere,visit to the Lakeland Museum,& the aquarium & so much more!!! The week went way to quick,highly recommend Portobello,& we shall be back in the future

The property
Tucked away in the picturesque village of Lindale in the Lake District National Park is this characterful, semi-detached Georgian house, Portobello.
Stylishly presented with high ceilings and period features, this stone-built cottage is set over three floors with spacious living areas and a private courtyard, ideal for a group of friends or family of six.

Be welcomed into the sitting room, decked with artwork, three plush sofas and a Smart TV, with the warmth of the electric flame effect fire for added ambiance.
Step through into the dining room to gather the family together for hearty meals by the gas stove after the day's adventures; cook books are provided in the book shelf for budding chefs to try something new!
Whilst cooking in the beautiful, well-equipped kitchen, complete with a range cooker, dishwasher and a breakfast table to keep the chef company, you'll feel the warmth of underfloor heating on the porcelain tiles.
A handy utility is just next door to keep boots, coats and quickly wash walking gear in the washer/dryer ready for a new day!
The back door also leads to the garden with a courtyard and outdoor seating to sip a cold glass of wine on warmer nights.
Climb the stairs to the first floor where three wonderfully presented bedrooms await sleepy heads; a super-king-size zip/link hosts an en-suite shower room, alongside a king and a twin, all with high ceilings and charming décor.

Lindale, a small village situated in the south of The Lake District National Park, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and just a few miles from Lake Windermere, makes the area a perfect holiday destination. Set amidst the charm of The Southern Lakes, this attractive village, with handy gastropub, The Royal Oak, makes an inspiring choice from which to enjoy the whole of this magical area. Just a few minutes drive brings you to Cartmel, a delightful village to wander around, famed for its delicious sticky toffee pudding, 12th century priory, National Hunt race meetings and gourmet restaurants. You could also visit Grange-over-Sands, a charming seaside Edwardian town. Take a stroll on the promenade and return through the quaint narrow streets with some lovely tea rooms and specialist shops including a bakery, chocolatiers, and award winning butchers. The Lake District has so much to offer, there is sailing on Windermere, cycling in The Grizedale Forest, Go Ape Treetop adventures, Birdwatching at Leighton Moss and The Foulshaw Osprey Experience. There are also stately homes at Holker Hall, Levens Hall and Sizergh Castle and a heritage steam railway which runs from Haverthwaite to Lakeside. The Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Beauty is also a short journey away. But leaving the best till last, walking or touring in the fabulous Lake District, with its fells, lakes and tarns is an absolute must, most of which is just a short drive or walk away.
