The property

Grasmere 1 mile.

This ground floor apartment is one of nine properties set in a former gentlemen's residence, close to Grasmere in Cumbria.

Nestled on the banks of Rydal Fell, with beautiful shared grounds overlooking Grasmere Lake, this lovely apartment is the perfect place to enjoy the mesmerising landscapes of the Lake District and has been featured on the Female First website.

It is ideal for families and friends wishing to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life for peace and tranquillity.

Lovingly presented to provide superb accommodation, this delightful apartment has three bedrooms, one of which is a king-size double, together with a family bathroom.

There is also a spacious kitchen with a dining area, and a sitting room with an electric fire and a large sash window affording views across to Grasmere Lake.

Outside, there is lots of space to enjoy this stunning location and at the front of the apartment is a sunny terrace with furniture, an ideal spot to listen to the birds sing and possibly catch a glimpse of the resident wildlife, including red squirrels, badgers and deer.

Grasmere village is just a 10-minute walk away where there are a host of restaurants, galleries and shops, including the Grasmere Gingerbread shop.

During certain times of the year, the village is also swathed in beautiful bluebells.

For those wishing to escape out onto the fells, this charming apartment is ideally placed, with footpaths and bridleways just a stone’s throw from the door, including the Coffin Trail around Rydal Water.

Being surrounded by such inspiring scenery, it is hard to imagine why you would need to travel anywhere else, but if you do, Ambleside and Keswick are perfect destinations just a few miles away.

There is a saying that you may leave the Lake District, but the Lake District will never leave you, and this must be true of this comfy apartment in this magnificent location!

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £100.

Where you’ll be staying

GRASMERE

Ambleside 5 miles; Windermere 9 miles; Keswick 13 miles.

Situated in the heart of the Lake District National Park is the lovely village of Grasmere, probably best known as the home of William Wordsworth, a place he once described as "The most loveliest spot that man hath found". Any visit to Grasmere needs to include The Grasmere Gingerbread shop, where the Wilson family has been making gingerbread for over 60 years. Also in the village are a number of shops, pubs, a church which dates back to the 13th century, and Grasmere Lake. Grasmere Sports takes place every August, where you can watch participants compete in a variety of sports, including Cumberland wrestling. Just five miles away is the town of Ambleside and Lake Winderemere where you will find shops, pubs, restaurants and the 17th century Bridge House, which is one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District. Cruises, boat trips and watersports can all be enjoyed on Lake Windermere, and the towns of Windermere and Keswick are also within driving distance. Grasmere is a wonderful base for your Lake District retreat.
