Miniature golf, fantastic parks, a lovely cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing, and great mountain bike options can all be found in the town, and the picturesque Derwentwater, at the top of the gorgeous Borrowdale Valley, is only a few minutes' walk away. The stunning Newlands Valley can be found not far from Braithwaite and Buttermere, and Bassenthwaite Lake is also a must-see. Everything from easy strolls across the countryside to strenuous climbs of Skiddaw or the renowned Catbells is available. Take a fantastic boat ride around Derwentwater and visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, Jennings Brewery, and Mirehouse, a large house and gardens on the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake. This is a fantastic Lake District destination year-round because to its many family-friendly activities, beautiful parks, and proximity to the Lake District Wildlife Park.
