When we arrived the apartment wasn't quite ready so we were told we could park up in the allocated space & come back for the key. Honestly it did make me and my husband squirm a little bit as the outside of the property is not much to look at, its in a bit of a back alley which is a bit tatty looking. However on reflection the location was brilliant as we were so close to town but tucked away enough to feel secluded, also the car parking space was ace as our family members who were staying at another property had to find parking on the street which in Keswick on a Saturday is pretty much impossible. The apartment itself is lovely, modern wood flooring and neutral colours, plenty of space for 2, I'm not sure how 4 would fair though. Sadly when we arrived there were some cleaning issues. Some things were immaculate but it was like some bits had been completely forgotten, the floor looked like it had not been hoovered and as an obsessively clean freak I had to hoover it myself so I felt comfortable. Also some mugs and cups in the cupboard went straight into the dishwasher before we could use them. Another problem we had was the bed - the apartment gets very hot and the bed had one of those plastic base sheets and sleeping on it was so uncomfortably hot and sticky, the fitted sheet that we were actually laying on kept popping off in the night so some mornings we'd wake up laying directly on the plastic sheet, sweaty and sticky. The duvet also was far too thick for an apartment that got so hot. Some good points were that the apartment has a massive window in the living area which you can fully open and look at the beautiful scenery. The open plan kitchen and living area is great and I loved the breakfast bar. With just a few tweaks and a bit more attention to detail this apartment would be 5 star. We'd still return as you can't fault the location and generally it is a lovely place to stay.
