    Convenient location.

  • "Always a pleasure to stay here, clean, comfortable, private parking."

Did have an issue in the bathroom this time but quickly resolved by the emergency number supplied, the agents response (full marks) and a competent plumber. Certainly visit again!

  • "Our return to this property did not disappoint."

Comfortable with good views towards Bassenthwaite from the sitting room, Idwal is ideally positioned for a Lakes holiday. Wether for access to walks or just relaxing this cottage comes highly recommended

  • "Lovely place on the outskirts of Keswick very close to Castlerig Stones and handy for travel to Ambleside area, Borowdale etc."

Suited my needs and nice and quiet. Decor may not be to everyones taste and the lounge chairs are not very supportive. Be aware you will need to bring your own oven gloves and washing up gloves, everything else was provided

  • "A very comfortable property."

Amazing views from the bedroom. A larger property than we expected, with your own parking place. The only downside was the entrance off the road. It is quite a sharp turn. But otherwise great. I would recommend this for a couple who want to chill out.

  • "Love this place."

Perfect location just out of town, easy 15 to 20 minute walk in to town centre. Parking near front door Close to 555 bus route stop

  • "It was extremely clean."

A little dated but fantastic views a large enough property. Very lovely chatty owner . No noise at all. We were happy with everything at our disposal . We would recommend this cottage to anyone.

555 Bus route stop very nearby. Great cottage accomodation and, lovely views from the garden. Very comfortable bed, slept better than at home. We will be coming again

  • "We loved our stay!"

Perfect for the two of us, and definitely good value for the money that we paid. The location is perfect for walks around keswick and for drives out into the neighbouring areas. The cottage itself is a great size for two, it had a cozy feel and comfy furniture. We would love to come back!

Nicely convenient for Keswick and for exploring the area around.

  • "Property was lovely and the view of the sunset from the living room was amazing."

Kitchen could have done with a couple of baking trays and a set of tongues, no idea where the washing machine is that the description mentions. Drive way narrow but focus/mondeo size car no problem with care. Appart from that it was a lovely week in a lovely cottage.

  • "Nice property, a little dated, but served as a good base."

Could benefit from a washing machine and an upgrade on the kitchen facilities. The space was great, really comfortable bed, which for me is very important. Drive way a little tight, luckily we took a small car. Views are amazing and the walk into town was really lovely along the old railway track.

  • "Idwal Cottage has the makings of a very nice rental property."

The rooms are spacious, warm and clean and the bed is very comfortable. However the kitchen and bathroom are dated and down at heel and there is a peculiar smell in the hall and main staircase which needs attention.

  • "We enjoyed the stay."

All facilities were very good.A warning to the elderly that the apartment is on a steep hill at the end of a steep drive would be useful.

  • "Bathroom poor ventilation and black mould/damp on the walls."

Mould/damp smell throughout property. Mould/damp in bedroom behind curtains. Dirty windowsill in living room. Electric shower not fit for purpose, temperature changes from freezing to scalding. Hot water tank is an old style immersion heater, so if you have a bath you have to wait for the water to heat up again to wash dishes ect. Bathroom is cold and has an electric fan heater on the wall. I complained to Sykes/the owners about the mould/damp and not had an apology from owner. I booked for 7 nights and had to leave after 3 as I felt ill from the damp. I’m currently in an ongoing battle to be refunded or have the alternative accommodation reimbursed. Would not recommend this property to anyone and will never book through Sykes again. I stay in the lakes at least once a month and have done for the last few years and I’ve never experienced anything like this nor had cause to complain. I took pictures of the mould/damp and dirty windowsill but unable to post these on this feedback form. I’m glad I did take pictures as the owners are implying I’ve made the mould/damp up, I’ve urged Sykes to inspect this property however they don’t seem too concerned despite the health issue black mould can cause

  • "Thank you, we were very comfortable here."

A handsome property that retains its character. We enjoyed the walks, walking from the door, hardly used the car all week; we enjoyed the town and the excellent bus routes in the area. If it hadn't been for the train strikes, we were considering train to Penrith and then bus to Keswick as the service is so regular.
