Visit the Castlerigg Stone Circle, less than 1 mile from the cottage; plan a day trip to Cockermouth, 15 miles away to see Wordsworth s House and Garden. Follow the steps up to the garden and open the door to find a reception hall, with storage for outerwear and access to the rest of the inviting accommodation. Wander on through into the lounge/kitchen/diner, with its wooden floor, vaulted ceiling and revealed woodwork. Choose a DVD from the selection then settle on the sofa to watch a film or switch on the satellite TV. Find a book to read or puzzle to complete or simply take in the fell views.
