The cottage was as described, kitchen was very well equipped.. Prior to the start of our holiday, we had personal communication from the owner, which we really appreciated, especially providing reassurance around measures taken in connection with Covid. Location of the cottage was brilliant, we enjoyed frequent visits from red squirrel, rabbits and lots of different birds.

Lovely cottage in a really secluded location.. There’s lots of great walks nearby and interesting places to visit. Unfortunately the cottage was a bit dirty with crumbs on the kitchen worktops, a broken shower and a bed that looked like it hadn’t been changed. Perhaps the cleaning service had been self isolating before the official advice came in? I presume this was a one off as we had always been to very clean properties with other companies like rural retreats. I contacted the owner who was very helpful and offered an interim clean.

The cottage was absolutely beautiful, the only problem was that I wasn’t expecting to have to hoover up dog hair from the front room before our holiday had even started apart fine that I couldn’t recommend this cottage enough it’s a fantastic place to be if you want to get away from everything even the the WiFi is extremely fast well compared to what I’m used to I even managed to get a couple of shots of red squirrels absolutely perfect didn’t want to leave..

Good personal service.. Helpful in allowing extra dog for 2 days. Simon was very attentive when the boiler stopped working and kept us informed of progress to repair it. Superb location for walking in the Howgills and close to station to take us down to the Ingleborough area across the Ribble Head Viaduct.

We had a wonderful week at Farriers Cottage, stunning location.. Property exceeded out expectations. So much to see and do in the local dales, a must for any countryside / wildlife lover. So close to the settle-Carlisle railway and ribblehead also a must do.

We had a fantastic week in Farriers Cottage.. It is clean, comfortable and full of character. Garsdale is a great spot for exploring the western Dales and in easy distance of the Lake District. We would recommend this cottage to anyone.

We had a very comfortable stay and enjoyed the cottage.. Three cars came from differing places and we all had difficulty in locating our destination but local people were friendly and helpful in putting us right. It is nitpicking to not give full marks to cleanliness. One expects a few cobwebs in old properties and, sure enough, there were some. The owners are to be complimented on their choice of flooring and fitments.

The cottage is a great place to stay, truly lovely inside and out, everything you need, in an idyllic location, woke up to red squirrels, baby rabbits in the garden and lambs in the nearby fields.. Great for visiting the surrounding area's. I would not hesitate to book Farrier's cottage again. Looking forward to another stay ☺

A well equipped, clean and spacious cottage which exceeded our expectations.. The bottle of wine greeting us upon arrival was much appreciated. Overall we had a thoroughly enjoyable walking holiday and the cottage offered great comfort when we returned exhausted in the evenings. The unseasonable Mediterranean weather we were lucky enough to experience all week was welcomed but meant we missed out on the great looking fire. Never mind!
