The property

This lovely apartment for two is found on the outskirts of Coniston village, with fabulous views, tucked away from the hustle and bustle.

Enter through the dedicated front door into the hallway with plenty of storage for boots and coats.

Up the stairs to the luxurious open plan living space with views of Coniston Water.

In the well-equipped kitchen, you will find everything you need to cook up a romantic dinner or indeed a hearty breakfast to set you up for the day ahead.

The stylish lounge/dining area is cosy but spacious, to enjoy meals round the dining table or relax in front of the cosy gas effect log burner, and watch TV.

You may also just want to sit in the chair by the window and take in the view.

The spacious bedroom is beautifully furnished with King size bed and views over the hillside.

It is complemented by a bathroom with corner bath, shower over, basin and WC with a lit mirror and shaving point.

Outside to your private seating area with bistro garden furniture where you can sit with a glass of something and enjoy the view.

High Dow Crag makes the perfect base to get away and enjoy the great outdoors with many walks from the front door.

Coniston village can be reached on foot within 20 minutes along the disused railway track and for a round trip return along the lake shore path.

A Coniston holiday cottage takes you away from the hustle and bustle of Bowness and Lake Windermere, to a wilder landscape full of adventure.

Coniston Water is famous for its part in Arthur Ransome's Swallows and Amazons, with Peel Island being the setting for the 'Wild Cat Island' featured in the story.

The lake is also known for Donald Campbell's water speed record attempt in 'Bluebird'.

But the real magic comes from the breath-taking surroundings; dramatic fells including Coniston Old Man, wild woodlands and wonderful Lake District walks.

You'll have access to no end of stunning routes, from leisurely strolls to challenging ascents.

You'll enjoy access to the peaceful village centre, well equipped for stocking up the kitchen with traditional butcher, artisan bakery and supermarket.

There are lovely tea rooms, cafes and traditional Lakeland pubs in Coniston village, and the Black Bull Inn is well worth a visit for its award-winning brewery the Coniston Brewing Co.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £150.
