Ennerdale Water is the most westerly lake (5 miles) it is a great place to escape even in peak season, with crystal clear water and pretty forest walks. The beautiful coastal town of St Bees (6 miles), enjoy a walk or surf/ kite surf on the gently shelving surf beach.
