We booked our stay from the Friday but due to work commitments we only arrived on the Saturday teatime, the lodge is in a great location with beautiful views especially from the bedroom balcony as you can see the lake, however upon entering the lodge, it has a rather strange smell, the lodge inside could do with a good clean and freshen up, there are cobwebs and spiders in every room, the bedrooms are cluttered with ornaments and artificial flowers which is just overwhelming. There is a lot of furniture in all of the rooms and the main bedroom has a very strong smell which is rather unpleasant. I didn’t particularly enjoy staying in the lodge as it just didn’t feel clean. The kitchen is full of dinnerware and utensils, far too many if I’m honest. We visit the lakes each year but as we were with family we decided to have a change and came across Storrs Lodge, unfortunately I couldn’t wait to leave and we actually checked out a day earlier. Personally I wouldn’t stay at Storrs Lodge again, which is a shame as the exterior is pretty.

Great location with great views and sun trap patio at the front of property. Property was great for 7 of us. Bowness marina is a 10/15 minute walk and Bowness 15/20 minutes further. Inside was spacious and comfortable. It's a quiet and peaceful area. We didn't see the owner but were away a liitle before the 10.00am time on the day of departure. CCTV cameras point at rear door and one at front patio, parking area and front door. Towels were an issue for us as per previous review. We all had a great time in the property.

I'll start with the good things:- View is incredible in a beautiful setting That's it So, the house is filthy and very dated. It has CCTV around the outside of the property which makes you feel like your privacy is very much being watched. The slated path is extremely dangerous and dated. Bring your own soap, the owner has laundry detergent as soap for you to wash your body with!!! Also, be prepared to be kicked out at precisely 10am!!! She was there waiting for us at 9.45pm with a tradesman for us to leave. We felt as though we were being kicked out!!!!! Would never stay here again. Very poor but for the beauty of the scenery. Poor hostess
