Prospect House is a wonderful period property around 200-years old and offering beautiful accommodation in Ambleside, Cumbria. Hosting four bedrooms, including two super-king-size bedrooms both with en-suite shower rooms and able to be twin rooms on request, a master super-king-size bedroom with seating area around the large window, and a king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room, along with a bathroom, and a lower-ground-floor cloakroom, this property can sleep up to eight guests. There is also a kitchen/diner with Sky TV, a lower-ground-floor utility room, a sitting room with a woodburning stove, and a lower-ground-floor cinema room with a 95" TV. To the outside there is a front patio terrace with seating and off-road parking for two cars. Prospect House promises to be a wonderful abode for a group who relish outdoor adventures in the Lakes.

Lower-ground-floor cinema room with underfloor heating, sky TV, UHD TV connected to the internet. Note: Properties 1016150, 10161777 & 1016178 can be booked together, sleeping a total of 12 guests.

This is a beautifully restored home. Beautifully decorated, clean and well located. HOWEVER, we were there in early June and needed the heat to work in the mornings. The Lake District in the UK is in the north and chilly. Our heat did not work. The radiators were cold to the touch and I googled how to work them. The heat must have been turned off by the owner. We contacted the rental agency, Sykes Cottages based in the UK, and they did not return our call. When Sykes posted my review, they cut out the fact that they never returned my call. They posted just the first part about the house being so nice. The property owner responded to my post by saying they were sorry Sykes did not contact them. Sykes says the property owner is responsible once you are in the house, and yet the property owner did not give us a contact number either in advance through e mail or in their in-home welcome manual. So, while the house was beautiful, we were spending a lot of money every night to wake up COLD each morning. I will never rent from Sykes again. And the property owner needs to get more INVOLVED. Do not trust Sykes reviews because they are edited to suit them. If you choose to rent this home, only do so under the condition that you have the owners cell upon booking. Otherwise, look elsewhere.

Possibly the best holiday home we have stayed in. This beautifully renovated house in the centre of Ambleside accommodated our party of 8 perfectly. It has been modernised to a very high standard, providing everything we needed for our stay. The location means that so much Ambleside has to offer is within walking distance and it has parking for three cars - a huge benefit for that area. We would return in a moment!

As we inspected Prospect House all you could hear was WOW!s And OMG!s. It is without doubt the best self catering place we have stayed and that included luxury apartments in Italy and Washington DC the last couple of trips.We were 1 of 3 couples who wanted a spring break and decided to go to the Lake District, and managed our visit immediately before the lockdown. Prospect House had the facilities (all bedrooms en-suite and of a good size), location (central Ambleside but quiet back street), and the pictures looked fabulous and we booked despite no reviews which is very unusual for us. The reason for lack of reviews was obvious as soon as we arrived -we were the first visitors since a very impressive renovation of the building and completely new furniture, furnishings, and equipment of the highest standard and taste. Nothing has been overlooked, or skimped on. Totally loved it - we will be back!
