Spacious, very clean apartment with modern interior decor. Great that a parking space is provided and very conveniently situated for town centre, bars ,shops restaurants etc. The whirlpool bath was a bonus to relax in after a hard days walk. Take your own towels and the ones provided were thin and worn. Not for anyone who struggles with stairs as 23 steps up to apartment via metal staircase, which we did not find a problem. I must mention that the beds in the twin bedroom are very small, and are more suitable to children, certainly not comfortable for adults, A pleasant few days spent here.

Extremely noisy due to the bar opposite which had bands on until late on sat and Sunday night and tues night.. Considering leaving early because it’s been so bad. The metal staircase is not suitable for the elderly or people with small children. Very nice inside but wouldn’t cool again due to the noise

We were pleasantly surprised at the central location, and despite other reviews access to car parking was not an issue, although narrow.. You do need to be able to climb stairs though The flat was larger than we'd anticipated, well laid out, clean and well equipped. Comfy beds too, and sun streaming through the windows. And a great view from the lounge We had that rarity in Cumbia in April - a week of sun, so thanks for arranging that... We will be booking again, maybe for 2 weeks!

Very clean well-equipped apartment in excellent location in middle of town.. Slightly noisy at times due to traffic and parking space a bit tight.

The apartment was large with plenty of room for the four of us.. It was immaculately clean with comfortable beds and plenty of storage. It's in a brilliant location, very central for the town. Only downside was a couple of drawers in bedroom needed repairing and some late night noise from lily bar across the road but we would definitely stay again.

Fantastic location, well equipped appartment.. Only downside - could hear noisy people in the flat next door from time to time quite late, but did not spoil our stay.

Loughrigg View was a great holiday cottage for our recent trip to Ambleside.. Location was perfect for all the shops and facilities in the heart of Ambleside. It did however mean that there was noise from the main road outside, it didn’t however cause too much disruption. The cottage was well equipped with everything you could need and more, we will certainly be back!

It was a really good apartment, and all as described.. A small welcome pack (milk etc. would have been nice, most cottages we have rented included this. It may be worth pointing out in the description that the apartment is on a busy junction with quite a bit of road noise, and is opposite a bar (The Lilly) which is open very late and pretty noisy if you have the windows open in summer

Only that it is not clear in description about the 23 outside metal steps up to the property.. The property would not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues . Even somebody with bad knees would struggle.

Pleased with the property.. Good location. Comfortable and clean. Well equipped kitchen. Only annoying thing was the kitchen units' plinth kept falling off!

A very nice, spacious apartment in the centre of Ambleside. The furnishings were mainly comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. The twin beds however, were a little uncomfortable for adults. There is a certain amount of road noise, and the pub across the street is popular and can be very noisy until the small hours. The main disadvantage of this apartment is the steep and narrow iron outside staircase, which is very slippery when it is wet. So while I would like to recommend the apartment, the access means I would be concerned about safety.

You access the apartment by climbing up the fire escape. We didn't have any problem doing this and hauling up our luggage but some might. The apartment is furnished very nicely but has a few minor maintenance issues such as burned out light bulbs and nice blinds that are are not working properly. Wifi only works in the bedrooms. Does not work in the living room or kitchen areas. We arrived on a Fri about 4:30 pm. As we couldn't access the wifi we called property mgmt for help. They didn't know how to fix the problem but said they would have the owner get back to us. Never heard from anyone. The apartment is beautifully furnished and very comfortable. In the evening there was outside noise from a bar across the street. Because it was quite warm we needed to have the windows open. In rainy or cooler weather this may not be an issue. We did notify rental company of maintenance issues before we left. The apartment is in a central location and Ambleside itself convenient for many walks.

This apartment was perfect for a relaxing break in Ambleside and was right in the centre of the town. We could easily walk a few minutes to find lovely restaurants for evening meals (I would recommend Lucy's on a plate - especially if it's a special occasion and if so, make sure you book and mention that you're celebrating!) It took about 15 minutes to walk to Lake Windermere from the apartment where we caught a boat to Bowness on Windermere. The apartment itself was such a lovely place to stay if you like a little luxury, from the huge flat screen television to the jacuzzi bath (even though we had some difficulty with the warm water to fill up the bath) - these details gave our stay an extra sparkle, and was the perfect place to open up a bottle of wine after a day of walking or visiting the nearby towns.

We have stayed here twice now and it suits us perfectly as it is right in the middle of Ambleside and close to its bars and restaurants but also many walks can be started from here, such as the Fairfield Horseshoe. Yes, the access may not suit some, but if you are a fell walker it shouldn't bother you in the slightest. The flat itself is very comfortable and quite spacious for a family of four . There can be some street noise, but if you are in the middle of Ambleside, what do you expect? We would recommend for sociable fell walkers!

Loughrigg View is a spacious, stylish, contemporary, warm apartment slap bang in the heart of ambleside. Why not try Thai, Italian, Indian or traditional pub fayre all within a minutes walk. Better still combine your meal with a trip to the little cinema. You really don't need your car - walks to Troutbeck, Langdale, Grasmere and several classic fells can all be done from the door or you could take the boat trip around the lake. We've stayed at dozens of locations around the lakes but provided you don't mind a little early morning traffic noise and can manage the access stairs, this place has got so much going for it.

We stayed at end of Nov.beginning of Dec and found the cottage to be warm and inviting as well as being stylish and modern. The fact that there are two bathrooms was an added bonus. All mod cons including a dishwasher ensured we could make good use of our time for things we wanted to do.Could not have asked for a more central location, and the parking space is another bonus. The steps to front door may be a problem if taking young children or for anyone slightly infirm, but gave us a bit more exercise. Overall a delightful place and have already recommended to several friends.

We arrived at the apartment in pouring rain so it wasn't much fun getting up the outside stairs (fire eascape) but when we opened the door we were thrilled and relieved. We spent just a few days at the Loughrigg and were pleasantly surprised at how beautiful and comfortable it was. With two good size bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (one on suite), a large TV and lovely kitchen we felt it was just the ticket! It is right in the centre of ambleside in the one way system, and a little difficult to find initially. If you have a big car then getting between the buildings and narrow parking space might be difficult but I only have a Peugeot 206. Two of us were keen hikers and enjoyed the proximity to walks nearby and there was a garden centre within walking distance which was worth a visit. It was a central and perfect spot for driving round the Lakes and visiting Hawkshead, Grasmere and Keswick However I would not recommend it to any elderly people who might have trouble climbing the stairs or with young infants. One of the restaurants opposite had music on Saturday night but all was quiet again by the time we went to bed so it didn't bother us. Would love to sty there again.

Great position, cleanliness very poor had to Hoover when arrived bed sheets were clean but had stains on them ( nothing that a little bit of vanish couldn't do) parking needs to be marked clearer as had to go hunting for the owner of a car from flats next door who didn't seem to care that they shouldn't be parked there. I wouldn't class this property as luxury.

This really is a superb holiday flat. The location is excellent, central to the Lakes District, and right in the heart of ambleside, which is a lovely little town. Everything about the interior is excellent - stylish decor, comfortable beds, comprehensive equipment, plus a stunning view from the window. There is only one fly in this sweet ointment, and that is the access stairs. When I booked it, knowing it to be on the first floor, I anticipated up to 12 or 14 steps. Instead of this, there are a total of 24 up from the back yard, via a rusty fire escape. Fortunately we were able to cope, just, as a kind neighbour helped us take our luggage up. Also fortunately, our party did not include a friend who frequently holidays with us, and who definately would not have made it. Had that happened, we would have had to abandonded the entire holiday. The access should have been specified in the advertisement. It was only after paying the balance that I was informed that the stairs were outdoors, and only when I arrived that we saw the height of them. That is not good enough, and does not encourage me to book again with the same company, for fear of what other nasty surprises might await! As i said, this is a great holiday let in every other respect. I just wish that the agency had been more honest about it.

My husband and I are regular hikers in the Lakes and were introducing our hobby to our friends (also married). The apartment was a luxury for the weekend. It was well equipped with kitchen utensils and entertainment facilities. Excellent location for not only some great walks but also the vast array of bars and restaurants that Ambleside has to offer. It also had its' own free parking space which is had to come by in the area. Only downside is that the ceilings/ floorboards of the upstairs apartment are quite thin so we woken by little kids running around - earplugs solved the problem though. Overall, highly recommended.

This apartment is very nice - the kitchen is good, the beds are comfortable, the view from the living room is really nice - it's a nice set of hills, not Loughrigg, but even better! - the furniture is comfortable, good appliances everywhere. The only thing that is a negative about the apartment itself is the entrance - it's up an external staircase that is effectively the fire escape. This can lead to tricky footing if there is any frost (yes, it got that cold in May) or wet, and it is not easy to negotiate a big or heavy suitcase up those stairs. But if you're fit enough to walk up the hills, you should make it. Then you can collapse into the comfort of the apartment. I'd like to warn visitors from the US that the type of washer/dryer in the apartment can take a very long time to wash and dry clothes, so plan well in advance. On the other hand, the dishwasher is superior to any I have used in the US. The company that services the apartment does not provide bath towels, which is a slight inconvenience. You might need to purchase extra toilet rolls. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay there again. One last thing - we got a taxi from Windermere station to the apartment, our taxi driver used to be a postman in Ambleside and even he couldn't find it from the directions that were given to us. They need to be improved and updated.

Had a great week? Kids loved the place. Very well furnished and finished. Love the split level. Convenient for town centre and the bus stop. It might rain but my kids love the open top bus ride between Grassmere and Windermere and to be honest so do the grown ups. It's a bit of a narrow entry with the car but once you get used to it, its fine. Would certainly look to book again. Booking was easy and straightforward. No problems and everything was as described. Thank you.

Have just returned from a long weekend in the Lake District. The apartment was beautifully decorated and had a fantastic location in the centre of Ambleside. We left our car on Friday and didn't use it again until Sunday. We did a great walk up to Grassmere for a day and spent the rest of the time pottering around the shops and great tea rooms and restaurants in Ambleside. The apartment was really well equipped, showers were powerful and the beds were really comfortable with snuggly down duvets and pillows. Fantastic apartment would highly recommend! It also caters well for groups of friends as it is possible to rent the apartment next door.

The pictures do not do this apartment justice as it was really amazing. The views from the apartment balcony were great and it was in the town center which was perfect exploring the area. The service received was great and the booking procedure was seamless. The apartment was set up nicely for our arrival with everything in place. It is in ambleside town center which is on the banks of Lake Windermere. The only slightly negative comment I would make is that the directions included were not upto date and we were looking for landmarks that had been closed down. Other than that slight negative we found the apartment perfect.

Despite a slightly odd rear entrance to the property via the fire escape, what unfolded inside was very good indeed. Comfortable accommodation in all respects, with an eye for detail regarding the needs of visitors. Very clean, with generously sized bedrooms/ bathroom. Of course the excellent weather helped! Definitely recommend to family and friends and would return ourselves. A good find by our friends.

The apartment was very well equipped with everything you could possibly need and was beautifully decorated and furnished. It was in the heart of ambleside making it easy to venture out into the lakes and out walking. I would really recommend Loughrigg View to anyone wanting to stay in the lakes whether it be for a walking holiday or simply just sightseeing.

Booked this accommodation at last minute as a Christmas getaway. Very impressed with standard of rooms/furnishings. Well situated for all the amenities of ambleside, yet very close to some excellent walks. Loved Golden Rule Public House. Disliked walk up steep stairs to accommodation.

We stayed at Loughrigg View last weekend and loved it! What a brilliant apartment right in the heart of ambleside. The decor and furnishings were lovely even down to docking stations in the lounge and bedrooms. Tastefully thought out. Big comfy rooms, huge TV, sprawling sofa, comfy beds, and everything you could want. Location was exactly where we wanted it with such easy access to everything. I booked this on the phone very easily with a lovely lady who confirmed it all by email following the booking. We would certainly go again. Helpful suggestions - arriving in the dark with rucksacks and cases, two flights of unlit fire escape type staircase is difficult so take a torch. You will also need the torch to see the numbers in the key safe. There is a light on our landing, but the height of the key safe makes it very hard to see the numbers with only a mobile phone! Thanks
