Not easy to find, due to out of date instructions and tight access down an alley. Poor first impression from outside. Access for the infirm would be difficult, due to the numerous metal steps. Parking is tight for a large car. That's the bad points.
Inside it is a different story. There were four of us (two couples), the property suited us very well. The kitchen was of a good size, with a large dining table and chairs. It is equipped with an oven, hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine, dish washer (bring own powder) and radio/CD player. The lounge was very comfortable with two sofas, it had a music system, a large television (Freeview) and a selection of games. The oriel window in the lounge makes for a good location to sit and watch the world go by. The two bedrooms were well dressed and of good size - each having its own radio/clock/iPod docking station, plus a wardrobe and bedside units. The ensuite to bed 1 was excellent, although the 'house' bathroom may be ready for a refresh.
The accommodation offers easy access to the town and to local restaurants, including a great value Italian opposite. Ambleside itself is a good place to base yourself in the Lake District.
Overall we would thoroughly recommend.
