The interior of the cottage was very small and cramped certainly not suitable for 6 people.. There was only just enough room to facilitate 4 people in the lounge area either to eat or watch TV. The bedrooms were as described with the double bedroom situated at the front of the ground floor cottage. The only problem with that was that if the toilet was needed during the night one had to negotiate the lounge and kitchen areas to get to the bathroom which was situated towards the rear of the premises. The furnishings were basic and in need of replacement particularly the dining table. The private patio at the rear is just a small yard bereft of daylight. The only positive thing I can say about the property is its location, less than 5 minutes walk to the beach and the centre of Polzeath although one has to negotiate a ford across the unmade lane just yards from the premises. I would not book this place again.

The cottage was a little hard to find down a very unmade road and the parking space was snug to say the least! The cottage was immaculately clean and well presented but lacked a washing machine. Wifi was good but TV channels limited. The mattress on the double bed was rock hard, which didn't suit us, so we had to cover it with a duvet to be comfortable. The noise at night from other people was substantial as the cottage is directly on the "road", luckily the kids were in the bunk room at the back and were not disturbed. The proximity to the beach is definitely this property's best feature. We were 2 adults and 2 children and I doubt you could comfortably fit more people in. The decking area at the rear of the house could do with some TLC, it was not really possible to use it as it's constantly covered in debris from the over hanging trees. Overall a pleasant stay.

Great location for being able to walk to the beach, I did check my car every day just to make sure no one had caught it when passing by plus the guy opposite tried to reverse out of the drive towards my car, seriously! but there wasn’t any problems. I would recommend people with children put them in the front bedroom as visitors going home to the camp site were a little noisy in the early hours and children can sleep through almost anything

We really enjoyed the cottage especially as its so close to the beach and the amenities, cafés, bars and shops..

We had a wonderful stay at this quirky cottage.. The location is amazing and the facilities are adequate for 4 but wouldn’t want 6 people in there, even the dining table only sits 4. The only issue is the parking, it’s advertised as ‘off road’ which is a slight exaggeration. We have a brand new car and literally cringed every time a car squeezed past. One other tiny thing - the brightly coloured card stickers ie WiFi code, really cheapen the place, perhaps a booklet with vital info would look more professional. We would definitely return as these are small things and our car will be older then

Accommodation small.. Suitable for no more than 2 adults. Expected at least a bar of soap and washing up liquid especially as expected to leave the place clean and tidy and strip the bedding. Very basic but located close to a very nice beach.

It may sleep 6 but it only seats 4 people on settees and only 4 chairs round table.. We had to wash down a chair from outside. It’s really too small for 5 people let alone 6.

We had a lovely week staying in Tidewood.. The cottage is in the perfect location for the beach and the coastpath. Parking right outside makes things easy. We had a problem with the oven on the first night but this was dealt with very efficiently by the owners and the caretaker. I do think the kitchen needs a few more utensils I.e. Sieve/colander, scissors, cheese grater. The house was nicely furnished and a comfortable place to be. We would stay here again.

Property and facilities as expected from description.. Excellent location. Would be good to have a washing machine for a week long stay, though appreciate space an issue. Very hot weather - fans would be good. Overall, a great stay and would come again.

For a surfer or Walker this accommodation is in a excellent location very near the beach, coastal path, shop, casmachine, restaurants and the Tubestation which serve excellent food.. The bedsare very comfortable. There is a little enclosed patio were you can sit out and wet close can be hang to dry. We were 5 adults going to a wedding and needed an ironing and hair dryer these things are not there but Lee who look after the place kindly lents us that. There are no beautiful views from the window other than you can see people going past. Lounge and dining area are a little tight for 5 adults. But we spent most time out and about. It is s good little cottage for the price we pay and if we were to go back to polzeath we would be happy to rent it again.

It was suitable for what we needed nice area close to beach everything we needed was provided could have done with some leaflets of places to visit although most places are closed in February. Owner text a couple of times which was nice of them only problem I had no signal on my phone anywhere in the area and had to leave Polzeath to use my phone. Wifi worked very well though. Certainly much better than some places we have stayed in the past. Track to the property has some nasty pot holes but at least it slows any traffic down which is good when kids are about. Parking for one car is a bit tight at front of property but sufficient easily for a smallish car and I have an MPV but managed ok All in all we enjoyed our stay and there are some wonderful walks in the area.

Ideal location very close to beach and spar shop so ideal for those who like surfing.. Would have liked some leaflets in the property of local places to visit although still being winter places would still be closed for the season. Ideal for those who like walking as public foot path starts just a few yards away and offers wonderful views across the beach. Ample parking for one car at front of property. Access along a rough track with lots of huge pot holes which someone ought to fill in however it stops anyone racing along there so with children that is a good thing. There is a small shallow stream outside the property only a few inches deep but our kids couldn't resist getting wet feet every time they went near it All in all enjoyed it and owners kept in touch with the occasional text message and were very nice. Unfortunately I had no signal on my mobile in the area and had to go outside the village if I needed to use my phone. Would I go again? Certainly.

I'll start with the positive point which is the close proximity to the beach and amenities. The beach is just a short walk along the track or up over the cliff via the coast path. Unfortunately the accommodation is tired and needs some TLC along with a good deep clean. On arrival at Tidewood you are greeted by a rather untidy entrance way with the vacuum cleaner and various mops, brushes and debris from previous visitors dumped in the corner. The accommodation is rather smaller than the photos depict and there is no way you would fit more than 4 people on the couch. It feels as though lip service is paid to the facilities as there is a mish mash of different kitchen implements. I even had to go out a buy a can opener. The kitchen areas needs a bit of updating. Under the double bed I found a pair of pants and socks. Apart from a rather rickity wardrobe there is little storage space in the main bedroom. The bedside cabinets are what I can only describe as laundry baskets. In the second bedroom with the bunk beds the dirt along the skirting boards was quite disgusting and obviously hadn't been cleaned in a while. The description of this property puts it in a quiet lane. It might have been before they put a caravan site 50 metres away from the property. I have been in tents with better sound Insulation. You can hear every conversation of people toing and froing, especially at about 1:30am on their way home from the pub. Off road parking? Well if you call squeezing your car right up next to the front of the property so that people splashing through the ford right outside your property don't scrape down the side of your car. The decking area is a complete mess which is dominated by a large tree which drops what I believe to be seeds all over anything in the back. This is little more than a large wooden beach hut. Would I return? Definitely not. Would I recommend this holiday property? No I would not.

The cottage was easy to find and in a fantastic location so close to the beach.. It was clean, tidy and nicely laid out, with a lovely patio for morning coffee or evening drinks.
