  • "This was the 4th time we have stayed at 14 Slipway and it is (as usual) perfect for our needs."

    The hot tap in the sink is very weak but this is being petty as we just boil the kettle. We will be back.

  • "Lovely property beautiful views and just right for surfing in polzeath and walking around Rock."

    Great property. Photos do not do it justice. Only one annoying thing happened when we arrived and a car was parked straight making it impossible for us to park and they wouldn't put it at an angle. The driver moved in the end as an elderly couple could not get out. Other than that amazing!!!!! It is an absolute gem

  • "Lovely, well equipped property."

    Very comfortable and spacious with gorgeous views. Beautifully situated for short walk to ferry over to Padstow and back. Some suggestions to improve the experience: 1) It is a shame to have to bring linen or pay yet more to have it provided. Would have been happy to bring own towels but bedding is a bit steep. Contradictory information regarding what linen to bring. ie tea towels, only to find there were lots already there. I used my own in the end. 2) Confusion as to cleaning the property, after reading the house booklet - ie who was responsible for the ultimate deep clean . However, I was able to contact Sykes Holiday Cottages easily and clarify. 3) It would be helpful to have clearer info about extra car parking and where to arrange it - we found the car park at the very end of the beach road to use eventually, after asking a lot of locals 4) Lots of useful info provided about the property itself. Would be good to have other specific info about extra car parking, ferry (+directions) maps of local walks and other attractions for example. There was some info in local magazines provided but specific info would be good. Apart from these few things we did have a really nice time and enjoyed the property enormously. Thank you

  • "Slipway 14 is a great base."

    It is well equipped, the kitchen and bathrooms are great. While the same issue is shared by all the row of houses, the outside space at the front of the house could do with being made more welcoming or useable - it felt very functional.

Slipway & Anchorage

The Slipway properties are all located at the bottom of Rock, on the other side of the road from the Rock Sailing club slipway.  There are three terrace rows of houses that alll have South facing aspects and balconies and offer a perfect spot to have family groups rent multiple properties so each family can be in the same place as their friends but also have some space and time to themselves..

ROCK

Padstow 1.5 miles via ferry; Polzeath 2.8 miles; Wadebridge 6.2 miles.

Rock is a desirable and much sought after coastal village located on the north eastern bank of the River Camel opposite the famous harbour town of Padstow which is easily reached by a regular ferry service. The summer home of royalty and celebrities offering top class restaurants and quality shops, the real draw is the array of watersports including sailing, water skiing, windsurfing and angling. Continuing on a sporting theme, the golf course at nearby St Enodoc is considered to be one of the best in the country. With an abundance of world class beaches all within a short radius it is easy to see why Rock holds its popularity.
