Our aim is to create lasting holiday memories and we intend to do so both responsibly and sustainably.
To deliver on this we've set out a number of environmental and social pledges which help to focus our efforts;

The Sustonica certification focuses on four key areas: energy conservation, water conservation,

Properties that display the Sustonica badge have successfully passed the criteria,
which align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the Global Sustainable Tourism Council standards,
and their owner has made a commitment to look after our planet as well as you.
My only negative was as other people have commented a hand rail up the outside to the door would be helpful and some form of lighting at the bottom of the out side stairs, we had to use a phone torch .Despite these would book again .

"The house is lovely and conveniently located in Newlyn."
The views are spectacular- majority of the rooms is overlooking the town and the sea.
We were just slightly disappointed by the fact that we couldn’t open many of the windows and the handle to the back door was broken. The house could use a bit of maintenance works. It would be also nicer if the washing liquid, more toilet paper etc was provided.
Thank you for your feedback. We have addressed your points re windows and have fixed the back door handle. I’m sorry you didn’t find the washing up liquid and toilet paper as there are spares in the kitchen and utility room. 2 spare toilet rolls per bathroom are also provided for each group of guests.

"Generally very nice and comfortable."
Wonderful location and parking made it that much better. We really enjoyed our time and would love to come back again. Thank you for the welcome scones, cream, and jam as well as the kitchen sponge, etc. Just for your awareness, some maintenance items could stand attending. Maybe a good keen eye to fully walk the property to see where handles are loose, rust is showing, tub covers are coming off, and the oven could use a cleaning inside and behind. Thank you for a great stay!

Excellent facilities and cleanliness throughout. Also lovely little touch - scones, clotted cream, jam and milk were waiting for us. I would highly recommend this house.

"This was our second stay at Belmont after visiting in the Summertime."
It’s an absolutely fantastic house, so spacious and homely. Immaculate throughout we had such a comfortable and fantastic stay over Christmas and New Year.
We have relatives close by in Newlyn and the Penzance area, so the location is perfect for us.
Thank you so much for leaving a Christmas tree and some festive treats too, very much appreciated.
No doubt we shall be back again!
Many thanks
Laura

"A beautiful well furnished home with lovely views of Mounts bay."
We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend stay with our family to celebrate our special anniversary. The house was very accommodating in all areas,
Comfortable lounges with lovely sofas, good sized dinner table with stunning views in the lovely open plan kitchen/diner, all the bedrooms were beautiful like a boutique hotel. The house was lovely and clean with an extra touch with fresh flowers and welcome cream tea.
The house is brilliantly positioned for visiting lots of places of interest and a very short walk to the beach, shops, lovely places to eat.
Only negative was only parking for one car but we were aware of that before booking, would definitely visit again if down in that area of Cornwall.

"We had a lovely time staying in this beautiful, spacious, very well decorated and styled house!"
We loved the colour scheme in each of the rooms.
The couple who stayed in the room with the en-suite found that the mattress was much too soft.
The main problem we had was regarding parking of our second car. We had to park 10 minutes away as there was no parking on the road at the bottom of Old Paul Hill. There were just double yellow lines.
And we have a 7 seater car which my wife found very difficult to park in the space on the hill. She did get the hang of it in the end!
Thank you for having us stay in your beautiful, well-equipped house!!

"We had a wonderful time at Belmont - great location although steep access would not suit all."
Extremely comfortable house for all our needs - lovely beds , well equipped kitchen , washer and dryer useful after the beach. We were blessed with great weather so out and about a lot - but can imagine it being cosy in winter. Newlyn is such a great place for fabulous restaurants, coffee shops , pubs and galleries- all a short walk .Enjoyed using the local bus to Mousehole for more great food !
Great base for visiting the lovely beaches and north Cornish coast - we will be back to explore more. As mentioned by others the bathroom locks could do with sorting and I finally got the hang of the parking space as well !
Thanks for a great stay

"Wonderful property, well equipped, fantastic views."
Only small snag was locks to all three bathrooms were difficult, resulting in getting locked in shower room when lock comes out and falls off, luckily when this happened someone was around to let person out.

"Loved the property and really appreciated the quality of the beds and bedding."
The views couldn’t be bettered and good for the soul!
We found the seating in the front lounge very cramped even for 4 people (not happy sitting 3 people on green settee as difficult for person in the middle ) and grey sofa very small for 2 people. If there were 6 adults it would have been impossible although perhaps we could have brought in the small sofa from back lounge.
As you know the fact that there was no plug in the sink of the shower room caused a problem for our personal circumstances ( husband has Dementia and unfortunately different surroundings worsened his condition ) this needs an actual plumber to fit a new one. Lucasz helped us remedy the immediate problem and was very quick to come to help - thank you.
I was very surprised to find that there wasn’t a fitting to allow us to charge our electric toothbrushes or electric razor . I had to try to purchase a two pin socket which was difficult , not having a car. I left a travel adapter but our toothbrushes didn’t fit properly but at least didn’t run out of power.
Finally I feel that perhaps the car parking space could be more adequately described - we had three sets of visitors who all found in various ways it difficult to get in to the space the first time, . The steepness of the hill also meant that we were told that the Taxi drivers won’t go up Old Paul Hill so we had to walk down to Aunty May’s Pasty shop with our luggage a bit difficult as suitcase wanted to roll down too quickly ( we are in our 70’s ) .
Whilst these may sound as if I am moaning that is not the case we were on the whole very happy with Belmont and really enjoyed our stay , but I wanted to say what we found troublesome
Finally I would just like to say Thank You to Paulina the housekeeper. She and her husband Lucasz were very helpful and friendly.
Thank you to the owners for providing a lovely property.

"2 families, each of 2 parents & 2 children each totalling 8 quests at Belmont in Newlyn."
We had visited Cornwall & Penzance in the past but never Newlyn and the surrounding area (South-South West) but all 8 of us haven't stopped talking about how good this past week has been
The weather was generally overcast with light drizzle other than a couple of good sunny days but this did not detract from the overall loveliness of the area
Newlyn in itself is positioned perfectly for a full on week of day trips and activities
The Belmont property had ample space for 8 of us with facilities to match. The only issue we found was with parking, the local Mackerel Sky restaurant attracts ALOT of attention with patrons driving to the area (although a literal 60 second walk from the Belmont we became regulars!)
We're very likely as a 2 family party to re-visit Belmont in Newlyn as our stay was so enjoyable!

Where you’ll be staying
NEWLYN
Penzance 1.2 miles; Marazion 6.6 miles; St Ives 8.9 miles.
Nestled next to Penzance, and although still a quaint town in its own right, Newlyn is actually the third largest fishing port in England, and an important Port of Refuge for all seafaring craft. This Cornish town is clustered around the harbour, with its historic 800 year old quay (the Mayflower actually left for America from this quay, not Plymouth) curling around a few small boats on the western side. Famous for the Newlyn school of Art and Newlyn Copper, the Cornwall Coastal Path passes through the town, as does the level Mousehole to Marazion cycle path. An abundance of wildlife and flora can be enjoyed along both, with basking sharks, dolphins and grey seals often seen. The Cornish coast is renowned for surfing, and Penwith offers some splendid beaches on which to enjoy this sport as well as surf fishing for sea bass. Mounts Bay also offers a wealth of opportunity for watersports enthusiasts as well as giving visitors an opportunity to relax and unwind in beautiful surroundings.
