Charming and full of character, this country cottage sits on the secluded Hurlditch Estate, which spans eighty acres near Lamerton. Peaceful and surrounded by pristine countryside, it's a dream of a home for keen walkers and nature lovers. The market town of Tavistock is just six minutes away by car and Dartmoor and the Tamar Valley are just a little further. A historic cottage that's been lovingly styled in keeping with its character, it's a real break from busy everyday life. Our favourite spot has to be the armchair next to the log burner in the cosy living room, where country furniture, antiques and vintage art create a lovely, homely feel. From here, patio doors open to the private garden – perfect for breakfast in the sunshine on summer mornings. Both bedrooms are comfortable and spacious, and there's a well-equipped kitchen for cooking at home. But despite its rural spot, here you're never far away from a good pub or an excellent restaurant – there are several to choose from within five minutes drive of your door.

Host

This home is managed by Richard

This home is managed directly by a business. A member of their staff will be your point of contact before and during your stay. Your hosts, Richard and Sarah, loved the lands of their farm and estate so much they decided to share them with their guests. And with that, they decided to renovate the estate cottages and install some charming shepherd huts for you to enjoy the best of Devon and Cornwall, before taking on further properties across the South West. Creating a unique and luxurious holiday experience is their passion.

This home is nominated for the Plum Guide Award.
