Large, well-known bathing resort with 3'500 inhabitants, in the western part of the region, directly by the sea, 10 km west from Esbjerg. In the resort: supermarket, shops, butchery, bakery, boutiques, bank, restaurant, bar, museum. Fitness centre. Besides: pharmacy, doctor. Kids' club Legeland Indoor playground 2 km, Skovlegeplads Forest playground 9 km, nature reserve. Access: no access to the resort by car, reachable only by boat from Esbjerg 5 km. Car ferry Nordby Fanø - Esbjerg 10 km.
Sandy beach, 15 m long, gently sloping, with beach facilities, suitable for children, 3 km from the resort. Surfing. Minigolf 2 km. Fishing (permit required). Hiking paths. Bicycle paths. Children's playground. The west coast is rough, fresh, roaring and delightfully exhilarating. You will find long, wide and sandy beaches with high dunes as far as the eye can see. You can experience some of Denmark's most scenic sunsets over the North See from the beaches in western Jutland. If you prefer calmer water and characteristic natural experiences, you ought to visit the preserved peninsula Skallingen, where the seals are gambolling, or the bird sanctuary Tipperne at Ringkobing Fjord. These places offer impressive sights, as millions of migratory birds gather here every spring and autumn on their way towards north or south. By the lighthouse 'Blaavandshuk Fyr' you will find Denmark's most western point. Surrounding the lighthouse the many concrete bunkers still bear widness of World War II.
