Right on the bank of Peblinge Lake, this apartment's location is hard to fault. Being this close to water is as idyllic as it sounds – we loved starting our day with a stroll along The Lakes. If you're looking to explore Copenhagen's scenic streets yet still want to be close to all the action in the centre, this is the spot to be – The Round Tower, Rosenborg Castle and the Strøget are less than twenty minutes on foot, while gastronomic delights and cafes await around every corner.
We adored the old building, and although the interior is more modern, it's got all the Danish atmosphere you would expect. Everything is decorated in a neutral colour scheme with some vintage French farmhouse touches. The breezy kitchen is well-stocked for cooking, the bedrooms are as comfortable as they are stylish and the bathroom is large and glossy. After a wander around the city, rest weary legs on the squishy sofa and relax with a glass of wine, admiring the views from the two French windows over the lake.
Home truths: *This apartment is on the fourth floor with no lift – as there's a total of sixty-two steep steps to climb, it's not suitable for those with limited mobility *This is a lived-in home – expect some scuff marks and personal belongings here and there *Guests have access to all areas of the home, apart from one bedroom, which is locked and used for storage *The dining table can double as a laptop-friendly workspace *This building has a shared entrance *With the windows open, you can hear some noise from the street below – it's not a problem with the windows closed *There's no parking here, but a car isn't necessary in Copenhagen – instead of driving, explore on foot or by bike
