Stella Maris with garage and garden

Dear Sir or Madam! We stayed in De Haan from May 31st to June 6th, 2025, at the Stella Maris holiday home, Nieuwe Steenweg 229B. We've never had such bad accommodations. Two broken coffee machines, one of which we repaired ourselves. My bed had a bulge and was very uncomfortable, so I had severe back pain the next day. It was very loud out front, like being on a highway. In the other bedroom, there was a smelly mattress under the bed... We found that unacceptable!

It was very loud out front, like being on a highway. In the other bedroom, there was a smelly, pee-stained mattress under the bed. We found that unacceptable!

The house itself is beautiful and well equipped. Great that there is a garage in the house, because of the limited parking space on the street. Inside everything was neat, beds nicely made. There were some ants in the kitchen. However, the terrace had not been brushed and there was a broken lounger. In addition, unfortunately the garden was not maintained: the grass had not been mowed and the border had not been maintained. This is a pity, especially for families with children. We did enjoy our stay.

For our trips to Bruges this was a very nice location. Excellent bus connection.

The living area and also the bedrooms are very spacious, the children liked to sleep in the - also very spacious - attic. The location on the busy road makes driving in and out a bit difficult, but it is nice to have a garage available.

Various defects Gas fireplace does not work at 16' outside temperature. Garden looks like a jungle, very unkempt. You don't want to eat from the grill, which was broken and totally rusty and dirty. Various cables hang out of the walls. Bedroom window cannot be opened, it feels like the bed is on the street at night. Extremely loud at night.

The house is nice and spacious and everything inside is generally very clean. Unfortunately, there was only a broken coffee machine. The outside area/garden is disappointingly very unkempt, the awning cannot be extended, the terrace is dirty/mossy, the grass is not mown and some of the garden equipment is very dilapidated.

Were there at the beginning of May, since it wasn't very warm yet, we wanted to heat the house. Unfortunately, heaters were already on display. The kitchen is really well equipped, spices would have been nice. Casserole dishes can be cleaned again. For 6 people and 3 full days only a dishwasher tab and a garbage bag were provided, far too little! In addition, it was not helpful to explain where the garbage must be disposed of, work should be done on that.

Unfortunately, the fireplace was not a wood-burning fireplace. The apartment was very nice and the gas fireplace also contributed to the cozy atmosphere. Very nice place with nice restaurants.

We spent a great holiday there with 5 people. Beautifully bright and modern furnished apartment. The garden could be a little neater.

Overall house is ok, but a few things could be better. The sliding doors didn’t lock and had prices of wood keeping them closed, bit neglected in places. No mattress protector

Beautiful and comfortable home! Unfortunately, the floor was very dusty and the garden was not maintained.

Very nice house, well equipped and well located.

Some things need to be reconsidered. The cleanliness of the whole house incl. Terrace. maintenance of the garden. Otherwise really recommendable.

Big house with garden. Great fireplace. Ideal for families. WiFi available for the teenagers.

Apartment would be very good if: - Dishes not pieced together - Glasses not from the Resterampe - Stove ready for use and description there - Fitting not loose - Trash can not dirty and lid there - Lamp usable in bedroom Service bad in terms of: - Information on using the garage was missing - information about rubbish - costs not mentioned - ordered towels were missing Rental: -extra costs for payment process Smile: - you are welcomed in Switzerland

The house is very nicely furnished. But you have to know that the bedrooms can only be reached via 1 or 2 flights of stairs, which are very narrow and steep, not ideal for older people and small children. One bedroom also faces the street, which is very noisy at night. Nevertheless, the stay was very nice.

Nice house with lots of comfort. Fairly close to the beach and shops . Several nice places in the area. In short, a complete house where we will definitely come back. The garden is also large and the Bbq has served well.

Practical and well-designed accommodation. Too bad it is along the main street - one of the rooms is therefore exposed to noise.

Very nice house and quite spacious for the number of people we were. On arrival everything was clean and tidy. The sun is present all day in the garden so we were able to take the opportunity to eat outside. The reception at the agency was also perfect as well as the explanations concerning the rental. I will return with pleasure.

Beautiful terraced house with garage. Everything was there and beautiful and well maintained. Top quality electrical appliances make you feel like a pampered kitchen princess. The steam room aka massage shower was very nice. Close to the center and the necessary shops. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.

Cosy, comfort, quiet. Beautiful house a short distance from the center. The garage is an added plus. Very clean. Beds were made as agreed. Everything was there. Cozy gas fireplace.
