Red House Farm Newtown, Powys

Me & 6 friends spent a beautiful weekend at Red House Farm and I have to say it exceeded my expectations! ! Cottage views overlooking the countryside was just something else, it was the perfect setting to spend time with friends and would highly recommend staying here! Couldn’t fault anything, the owner was great giving us updates prior to arriving and I hope we get the chance to stay here again! Thank you Sykes for allowing us to have the best weekend here .

Spectacular views, accommodation, comfort and privacy including large, secure gardens and bbq area.. Very fortunate with the weather so hot tub was used most days ... extremely clean and safe ... checked by the owner Mark regularly throughout the week. Did walk to and from village ... but is stretching on return as all steep up hill. Would recommend Black Lion Friday curry night ... Red Lion and Goat also do good pub food. We found it easier to eat in most nights as quality butchers in the village with extensive selection of meats and speciality dishes ... really spoilt for choice! We had a fabulous week here ... exceeded our expectations...best family accommodation we have ever stayed in.

Red House Farm was absolutely fantastic.. The house had everything and more, the owner was lovely and always on hand if needed. The property looks exactly like the photos. We had such a relaxing stay and will definitely be looking to book again.

Appreciating the difficulties experienced by the pandemic I found communication with Sykes almost impossible when I needed it.. This was a much needed break and I had tried to extend it by 1 night. I was unable to do this online as a minimum of 2 nights is required, I tried to ring several times and gave up after a minimum of 50 minute waits. I then emailed to try to extend but sadly got no response what do ever. By the time my daughter finally got through some 3 weeks !!! Later there was no a availability. The property was amazing with lovely helpful owners and would definitely recommend and return.

We stayed here for a week 3 children 1 dog 4 adults. Absolutely perfect the kitchen has everything thing you need and all of a high standard. The snug is a great place for the kids to play and chill. The bedrooms are all a lovely size my only criticism is there could be bigger wardrobes as there all singles and a set of draws would be handy. The living room is a wonderful bright space with beautiful windows and doors to enjoy the magnificent view that surrounds you. Mark is a fantastic host and so very welcoming and little Glory his dog is wonderful. The hot tub is one of the cleanest I’ve ever had the pleasure of using mark does a magnificent job of keeping it clean. Everything you need for a perfect getaway. We looked at other places at the same price and this was miles ahead of what’s on offer.

Red House was beautiful, comfy and had everything we needed.. The owners were helpful and easy to contact. We had a great time even with Storm Dennis making it very windy and cold it was warm and snug inside. The hot tub is great and it would have been wonderful walking in the area if it had been better weather.

A wonderful family break in Feb, sadly the weather couldn't be helped but for us we still used the hot tub and made lots of memories, a fantastic time had by all along with hosts that couldn't do enough to make your stay fab, we will see you soon, Lauren, Ian, Karen, hannah, malachy, faith, Liam and Brandon.. Not to mention the dogs who had a wonderful time.

We all really enjoyed our stay.. We felt welcome and the house was very warm and comfortable. The cake that was there on arrival was lovely. The hot tub has been well maintained and was lovely to sit in during the evening after a day of walking. Would visit again.

This is a gem, from the moment we stepped foot in the door it was a BIG wow.. The cake, accommodation, hot tub, views were perfect. House & hot tub was immaculate. See you again Christmas 2020.

We had an amazing time for my husbands 40th.. . our 5 kids and 11 month old dog loved the outside space. The hot tub was amazing. Mark was lovely and we was left a yummy cake defiantly book again.

This is a great house, in a beautiful setting with views of the Welsh hills from the hot tub! We received a lovely welcome from the owner & really enjoyed the gorgeous cake. The house offered us everything we needed & wanted for a large family break. The travel cot, highchair & stair gates provided made it much easier for us with our small children. The house is beautifully decorated & furnished, which makes it feel really homely & a perfect setting to just relax & enjoy each other’s company.

The pictures and the description don’t do this property justice, I don’t believe any others could either.. It is simply breathtaking. The location, the views, the layout, the decor, the attention to detail, the garden, the hot tub, the friendliness of the owners, the cake. We stay in Welsh cottages twice a year for the past 6 years so have stayed in our fair share at this stage and nothing comes close to Red Farm Cottage. Not even close! We will 100% be back!

What an incredible weekend! !! Cottage was perfect! I can’t rate this place high enough!

Red House Farm was a lovely large,luxurious house with plenty of room for our family party of 8 adults.. It's in a lovely location on a hill with beautiful far reaching country views. There is a large garden which our dog greatly enjoyed as there was dog proof fencing all around. There is a large, generally well equipped kitchen and a large sitting room with wood burner and large TV screen which we enjoyed watching films on together. The bedrooms were well appointed with very comfortable beds, one twin and 3 king sized beds, one of which can be separated to two 2'6" beds. Three bedrooms face the garden and fields at the rear and one has wonderful valley views. The patio just outside the kitchen french doors was a great sun trap with generous wooden furniture and a bbq. The hot tub was greatly enjoyed by all and is sited near the lounge facing the valley. The house was beautifully clean and quite minimalist, we wondered about having hooks on the back of bedroom doors and possibly more drawers etc to unpack but Mark is really helpful and if you feel you need anything just ask as we did (a large saucepan arrived within an hour). We had a wonderful, relaxing week and would thoroughly recommend this lovely house.

Mr Bowen created the most amazing holiday for us, he was so helpful and caring when planning our stay.. The accommodation was amazing, lots of space for the whole family - it was great on a evening having the living room. Can't wait to book again.

Everything was perfect.. As a group we go away to a different place every year and this is by far the best place we have ever been too. The place is beautiful, bedrooms are great size, lounge and kitchens are large enough to have everyone in comfortably and hot tub and garden were great with the beautiful weather we had. The homemade cake that was left for us was a beautiful touch. Thank you x

What an absolutely fantastic house to stay in.. If I could rate it higher, I would do. We had a fantastic week at Red House Farm. Everything was spotless; the hot tub with those views were amazing; the decor is beautiful. We could not fault it and in fact are looking forward to a return trip next year. Thanks to Mark and his family for providing such a fantastic base for our family holiday (and for the delicious chocolate cake that was waiting for us on arrival!)

Red House Farm was such a lovely property to stay in.. The views were amazing and House is so comfortable. Everything inside is of very good quality and the owners Mark and Elin were very helpful and welcoming. The house is in a very peaceful setting with a few houses only just visible from the windows. There is a farmyard next door which is rented out to farmers during parts of the year. A great stay.

We have just spent 3 wonderful days at Red House Farm and it was perfect! Really well equipped, beautifully presented and a real home from home. I have a 12 month old who is into everything and this was a great space for him. Stair gates, cot and high chair were all set up when we arrived and it was a great space for him to explore. The hot tub was a hit with the older children and adults, and as nominated chef for the weekend I was really impressed with the kitchen and it’s facilities. There were 5 adults, 3 children and 1 baby and it really was the perfect space for us. We will be back. Highly recommend this place.

We stayed at Red House Farm for the second time in February.. Unfortunately this was when storm Emma brought all of the snow. I was contacted by Mark the owner who advised me of the weather and the struggle to get up the country lane to the house due to the severe weather. Mark gladly came down the hill for us in his amazing 4x4 buggy and brought the three of us and all of our bags up to the hill. He did the same journey on countless occasions to bring the other members of the group up to the house open their arrival and even at one point brought our shopping up for us upon meeting him in the village one afternoon. Mark was so unbelievably helpful throughout the week and even drove us all back down to it cars at the end of our stay! I cannot recommend it enough. The house is beautiful, hot tub brilliant, surroundings fantastic and Mark was incredible!!! We will definitely be back again!!

Absolutely stunning property and location! Would move in tomorrow! Stunning views around the whole house. The house is beautiful inside and out with tasteful furnishings throughout. Superbly equipped kitchen, extremely comfy beds and lots of nice little touches all around. Seclusion at it’s best. Mark the owner is a great guy and couldn’t do enough for you. Was a pleasure to meet him. Great hot tub again with stunning views. Can’t wait to go back. My favourite location so far and we’ve been to plenty of beautiful places. Thanks.

Lovely house in very quiet location (apart from the sheep! ) with outstanding views. Mark, the owner extremely friendly and helpful.

Stayed at Red House Farm the first week of September. Absolutely comfortable beautiful house. Immaculately clean and we could not fault a thing. The garden was huge and safe for our dogs to be out without worrying about them. We stay away every year in holiday cottages and this was one of the best. The cake on arrival was scrumptious and much appreciated. The hot tub was wonderfully positioned to sit and relax in the evening, looking at the views and stars. Mark was a lovely host.

Red House was spotlessly clean and had everything you could need for a holiday. The views from every window were amazing it was so quiet and peaceful. The beds were extremely comfortable and the bed linen used was very good quality. The house was conveniently situated and all places of interest were within driving distance or walking distance. We couldn't have picked a better property to spend our holiday in. We have visited many holiday homes over the years and would say this is the best by far.

If I could give more stars then I would as this has been without a doubt one of the best holiday homes we have stayed in and made even better by allowing dogs too. We were greeted upon arrival by Mark who showed us round the property and how to work the hot tub (which was fab to relax in during the evening!). There was a delicious cake waiting for us as well when we arrived which was amazing after a long journey with a cup of tea. Even the poor weather couldn't dampen our spirits when staying in such a beautifully presented and furnished home. We felt so comfortable and welcome and have had an amazing week. We are already talking about when can we find a week to come back! The views are incredible and we don't want to leave!

Red House Farm is a beautiful house in beautiful surroundings. Really well looked after. Could not fault it.

An amazing house finished to a high specification, with great views especially from the hot tub! Lots to do locally, whatever the weather.

We booked Red House Farm for the 2nd week of the Easter holidays for myself, husband, teenager, 2 children, grandmother and dog. On arrival we were met by Mark the owner and his daughter who were very friendly and showed us around the property explaining how to use things including the hot tub. They had left us a huge cake which was delicious just wish we had asked if they could have made another as we celebrated a birthday while we were there and the cake we brought was no match on their one. The house is stunning it took our breath away how beautiful it was. There is a stunning view from every window in the property. You are surrounded by fields and the sheep can be very vocal when you go out which was very funny. We had a couple of visits from 2 of the sheep into the garden but the farmer was quick to come and get them. Our dog became quite used to them. We were quite sad to say goodbye to the sheep at the end as we had given some of them names. Towels are provided and there is a washer dryer in case you need it. The hot tub was great and even in the rain. The children have the PS3 to use which has 2 controllers and games are provided. This is in a separate room to the living room. There are also board games and lots of books to read. We didn't you use the wood burner but the fireplace is gorgeous and with this on I could see it being quite snug. All the furniture and bedding etc is very good quality and this property is very high standard and we can't wait to go back. The beds are so comfortable I haven't slept so well in ages the whole holiday was just what we needed and we cannot thank Mark and his family enough for letting us use their beautiful home. We did a few trips out. Welshpool is about 15 minutes away and has supermarkets etc there and a delicious curry house called spice fusion. There are plenty of walks around the area and we drove to Lake Vyrnwy which was about 30 minutes away and this was a hidden gem. I would 100% recommend Red House Farm from the beautiful house and views to the friendly owners this place is 5 star. Just wish we had booked a earlier for the summer as they are now fully booked. (Mark if you get any cancellations please let us know ha ha)

This home was done to a wonderful standard. The décor was superb and it was simply a real pleasure to spend the weekend there with my friends. The rooms were lovely, and had everything we needed. The hot tub was brilliant fun and lovely and warm.

Each year a group of us go away for the weekend to a different barn/cottage. A groups of seven of us went this year to Redhouse Farm. I must say everything was exactly as we imagined, if not better. The owner was very helpful. It is a beautiful House inside and out the hot tub was beautiful. Even though it was Hurricane Desmond the weekend we went, we still managed to brave the hot tub, and it was amazing, easily fit 7 of us in. The decor of the house was superb, so modern and had everything we needed. We loved it so much that we have booked again for the summer. Thanks for letting us stay in your fabulous cottage.

Couldn't recommend this place enough! Had a lovely break here with my family and friends. The owner and his family are so welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Everything was to a high standard and the views and surrounding area was beautiful and quaint. We will definitely be returning!

A stunning property that has been decorated and furnished to a high standard. The owner made us feel extremely welcome and nothing was too much trouble. If you are looking for a relaxing get away, with beautiful views, then this is the property for you. We had a lovely stay and will definitely be visiting again.

The property was immaculate and a lot of thought had gone into the furnishings and details by the owners. If we were rating the property it would easily surpass six stars. Simply first class and we hope to return soon.

An absolutely beautiful house, with everything we needed for a lovely weekend. We were made to feel very welcome, there were amazing views and the hot tub was a lovely addition. We all had a brilliant time, I'll definitely recommend and will hopefully be back soon!

Booked three days at this cottage in early Sept 2015. Located about a mile from the small village of LLANFAIR CAEREINION - the last half mile is up a winding single track road that then opens up to majestic countryside and farmland. The property is glistening over every inch of the interior and we felt as though we had stepped into the pages of one of those glossy countryside magazines. Beautifully furnished throughout with a gorgeous hot tub just outside the large bi-folding lounge windows. The hot tub is lit with LED lighting and can this can be set to slowly change colour. We used the hot tub every night and gazed at the stars. On arrival the owners had left us tea, coffee, milk and a huge Victoria sponge cake that had been freshly baked locally. Delicious. From every window in this cottage there were open views of hills and countryside. The owner (Mark) visited us a short time after we arrived and made us feel very welcome. If you are after peace, seclusion and amazing views then you must visit this property. The attention to detail of this house would exceed six star rating in our opinion and we will be visiting here again.

What an amazing house, I would say this was the best one we have rented so far. The views over the hills are breath taking, and it has a beautiful homely feel the minute you walk in the door. Everything in the cottage is finished to a very high standard.
