Great place to chill out with the family - lovely walk to the local beach - there was only 1 other family other than us on the long stretch of beach at any one time - perfect! Sunsets were stunning!
Good base for the south west lakes and surrounding areas - we could see across to Blackpool Tower one day.
There was everything we needed at the house - shops a car ride away, but with a bit of planning that’s not an issue.

Very cosy cottage that had enough space for two families of 4 and grandparents.. Lovely safe surroundings and a quick walk down to a lovely long beach. Small garden space but not really needed any way with all the beach fun.

The house is beautiful! Roger the owner called us the night before we were due and was extremely informative about the local area and what there was to do. He then emailed everything so we had it all to hand. The neighbours in the area were extremely welcoming and again told us about the local area. The house itself was spotless and each room had beautiful views. It is a very traditional farm house but each room was lovely. There is a very friendly horse next door with whom our children loved going to visit every morning and evening and the owner was so kind in talking to our children and letting them play in the horse field. Raceside farm is a good hour from most of the attractions and on very windy roads which wasn’t great but that’s something that can’t be helped but I would say you definately need a car to be able to get around. There is a lovely pub/restaurant and play park less than a minutes walk from the house. Thank you so much to Roger and Skye’s Cottages for a wonderful break away!

Wonderful house and location we have had a fantastic family weekend only let down when we arrived there was a large pile of dog poo just outside the property door and also in the rear garden which must of been from previous visitors! ! However once this was sorted I couldn't fault it

We had a great stay at Raceside Cottage, it was a great base for exploring the area but could do with some maintenance that would have greatly improved the stay.. Both garden benches were broken on one side so we were unable to use them to enjoy the great weather at the beginning of the week. Few bits missing from kitchen that would have been useful for example oven gloves and a corkscrew. We could not find the games that were mentioned in the listing. However, it was a good stay overall and we would use the cottage again. Great views from the front bedrooms.

A very comfortable house in a peaceful area.. Would recommend to families as there is plenty of room and I am sure children will love the attic bedrooms. The bathrooms and bedrooms are beautifully styled and the views from the windows are over lush countryside. The pub is a few strides away where we enjoyed good meals; suggest booking before travelling as it gets busy at the weekend. The coastline has lots of lovely little beaches and walks, and the nearest at Silecroft has a friendly beach café; our favourite treat was an ice cream and a milkshake and they do good breakfasts. Another fab café is The Byre in the village of Bootle. This has a woodburner and casual seating and even a gift shop, and of course they serve great food!

A delightful old farm house full of character and ideal for exploring cumbria. A welcome pack would have been nice to arrive to after a very long journey but instead had to go out again to get basic things such as tea! Every house we have been to include a welcome pack ie. .milk, tea, biscuits. . including a few basic cleaning things..very disappointed considering the price of the house. Bins outside were overflowing and settee in sitting room could do with replacing. Shame that the local pub was closed down and the walk to the beach was unsuitable for myself and my scooter. .would have been nice to been informed of these on booking. But overall a good week!

The photos on the website didn't do it justice! It was a very comfortable 'cottage' and had everything which we needed. It is set in a beautiful part of the country, and about 20 minutes' walk from a lovely deserted beach - shhh - don't tell anyone!!

We had a wonderful time at Raceside Farm. There was a little blip in terms of getting the keys when we arrived, but this was soon resolved. The house is nicely decorated and the bedrooms are very comfortable. We stayed with our extended family (aged from 3 months to 66 years) for my husband's 40th birthday and everyone had a great time. Kirksanton itself is lovely - the beach is very close and there is a good local pub that serves excellent steaks. We will definitely return!

There was a very comfortable atmosphere in the house; nice views, a library full of good books, nice design and decoration and many places to sit and read quietly even when there are 8 people in the cottage. Outside the house, the area is lovely and the cherry on the cake, a friendly white horse as a neighbour!
