Fantastic stay in this beautiful cottage - the pictures don't even do it justice.. Lovely big open plan living and dining space, well equipped with everything you need. The cottage is easy to find and well located, just a short drive back up to Rothesay and there are great views with some nice walks nearby. It was nice and warm inside, in particular we enjoyed the heated floors in the bathrooms. There is no wifi and little to no phone signal (you may get some if you take a few steps away from the cottage - it has very thick walls!), but we enjoyed the opportunity to disconnect and forget about social media etc. Also note that if you visit Bute between October and the end of March most of the tourist attractions and some restaurants will be closed. We plan on coming back here in the future - no complaints at all and great value for money.

The radiators in the front lounge were not working so it became quite cold at times..

It was a beautifully renovated building that was furnished with local fabrics and materials in a wonderful setting.. What more could you want ? It was perfect and I wish I was still there ...... The only thing that would have been helpful was a list of local numbers like the vet, doctor etc as our dog was stung by a jellyfish which was quite distressing and with a poor signal difficult to google numbers. But that is a very small thing indeed ! We will be back . It was worth the long drive from Bath .

The location of the cottage was fantastic.. Far enough out of town and very close to the beach.

Fantastic holiday base for the Isle of Bute, exceptional cottage that is equipped to a very high standard, comfortable and contemporary furnishings, a house to dream of! The staff at Mount Stuart were very helpful. Peaceful and relaxing, just a short walk from Scalpsie Bay beach which has stunning views over to Arran. Plenty of wildlife to see including seals at Scalpsie, hare and deer. Thoroughly recommended.

Thoroughly enjoyed our few days at cottage, and seeing round Mount Stewart itself.. Only tiny quibble would be cooker hob quite difficult to operate, even with instructions! A small point though. Thank you. Duncan Simpson

Beautifully modernised cottage in a wonderful location.. Well laid out and spacious. Needs a coffee maker and WiFi to get me to return. A king size bed would be great as well.
