The cottage was amazing.. Facilities really good . Very spacious bedrooms, living room and kitchen diner. Area outside for the dogs to run about. The cottage had everything you would expect to find at home. The little touches made a great difference . On arrival Greer was a lovely home made lemon drizzle cake as well as milk , tea coffee and sugar. The cottage was within easy access to explore the area . We did the Railway museum, Diggerland a must for small and big kids , the seaside and the Black Sheep Brewery Tour. We could have done much more but only a short break. Loved it and will be going back .

Lovely holiday bungalow with delightful landscaped grounds.. Cake was a welcome treat on arrival. Good base for travelling to see the stately homes and gardens. York itself a must for visitors- pity the Minster started to charge for entry - I know maintenance is a problem but voluntary giving is preferable. Would certainly recommend these holiday bungalows(3) on this site, spacious and the mobility/disabled aids a great plus point. Major road (A19) in close proximity to get to your holiday visits (although be sure to check for road works - we were seriously delayed for minor repairs to A19.) All in all, a delightful experience which exceeded our expectations. Weather too beautiful for September.

The accuracy provided, was not only above expectations, the cottage well stocked kitchen was better than most homes have, ample room for myself to get around in my wheelchair being an amputee, and very spacious.. There were only two of us in a six bear that cottage but even so, you would have plenty of room. We arrived to be met with tea/coffee and a homemade orange drizzle cake, and reading through the visitors book it seems to be every booking..

Pound cottage is well equipped, comfortable and clean and has excellent facilities for anyone with mobility issues.. It is handy for getting into York either by car or using the nearby park and ride. The owners of the cottage are friendly and helpful and we appreciated their providing the basics for a cup of tea on arrival and a delicious lemon drizzle cake. We really enjoyed our stay.

The cottage we stayed at was set in beautiful surroundings.. It was peaceful, and close to many places of interest to visit. A little difficult to find if you follow satnav directions to the letter, but a quick phone call to owners solved that. Some discomfort for the seating and taking cushions is recommended. Cottage excellent for disabled and wheelchair users, and plenty of room to spread out. Bedrooms spacious. Great parking facilities. Dogs welcome and room for them to roam ( leads recommended). Owners very welcoming and there were basics (tea, coffee and milk) on hand. Also a big luscious cake in the fridge.

We were lucky to be visiting the area at the Easter that broke all sunshine records.. Our Grandchildren loved the space outside to kick their football and the adults (4 of us) were impressed with all aspects of location, facilities and comforts. Rod & Peggy were most helpful and thoroughly nice people. WE hope to be able to go again and have no hesitation in recommending Pound Cottage.

The cottage and its immediate surroundings on the farm were extremely suitable for our young grandchildren.. They enjoyed the large grassy areas for games and the paths for their scooters. It was so easy to get to York for the Railway Museum by the Park and Ride.

We had a brilliant holiday.. The cottage was close to York and a great base to explore further afield too. The cottage was perfect for grandad too, with everything he needed to be independent whilst suffering is mobility issues. Riser/recliner in lounge was an added bonus too!

The photos on the website do not do this lovely cottage justice. The owners went out of their way to ensure that all needs were met. We would definitely recommend this cottage to anybody and hopefully we will be making a return visit at some point in the future.

A very spacious bungalow that was plenty big enough for two families. Owners were very nice and very helpful. With an Easter cake baked for our arrival we received a very warm welcome from the owners. Couple of nice pubs within walking distance. Great location for York but a lovely rural retreat too. Good facilities for people with a disability too.

Firstly it would be worthwhile phoning the management before arrival if any special needs are required to facilitate all having a quiet relaxing holiday. Secondly the accommodation is sited in a very good position just off the A19 before reaching the City of York. This means that access to nearby towns, the Yorkshire dales, the Yorkshire moors and the East coast beaches is within easy reach. The holiday was quiet and relaxing. The managers, Peggy and Rod, were willing to provide anything required to make the holiday pleasing. They are a cheerful couple and pop round for a cheerful chat. Peggy's chocolate cake goes down very well too. Spiflicating!

The owners, Rod and Peggy, made us most welcome from the very start. Peggy had even left milk and a Chocolate cake in the fridge for us, and Rod came over to the cottage to explain everything, even though we arrived very late at night. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, spacious, and warm. The facilities were great with ample parking and the cottage had good WiFi connection too. The cottages are on a quiet road just off the main road to York, and very conveniently located for access to the University, which was our reason for being there. We will definitely be back.
