As the title says Poolhouse has the perfect location. Poolhouse is in the tiny hamlet of Invarsdale about 3mls from Poolewe. It has unrestricted views of Loch Ewe, and the North West Highlands, for a keen amateur photographer like myself this was a dream location. The house its self was fantastic, it has a great cosy living room, with a separate dining room, a small but nice kitchen, and 3 good size bedrooms, there is a decent space off road for a car, and the enclosed gardens will be perfect for anyone with children. The nearest large town is Ullapool about 50mls North, but Gairloch is just 6mls south, which has some useful amenities. I cannot recommend Poolhouse enough, if it is a quiet peaceful, scenic base in which to spend a few days

Great views, excellent beach nearby.. House warm and very comfortable. Sykes accidentally let us book for 5 people when in fact the 3 rd room is not supposed to be used and max is occupation is 4. However a call to the owner saw a neighbour come quickly with key for the linen cupboard and sort out the third bedroom for our use so excellent response from the owner.

Pool House is a lovely cottage and is right on the shores of Loch Ewe, with stunning views across the loch to the Mountains of Suilven and Ben Mor Coigach.. We saw a variety of wildlife from the dining room, including an otter feeding near to the slipway. If you are a hillwalker or lover of wildlife this is an ideal place to stay.

Whenever I book with Sykes, the experience is very easy and hassle free.. This cottage was so lovely, the views were spectacular, the house was clean and so very well stocked. I had a text conversation with the owner at one point, and she couldn't have been nicer if she tried. This cottage is definitely one I would return to.

Pool House was simply the best in every way, the house has a lovely atmosphere, and the owners have obviously gone to great lengths to provide everything that we could possibly have needed.. The garden is also beautifully kept, and the views are stunning. This is one that we most definitely will be returning to, a real gem.

Had a great week although the weather was cold.. There were no spare blankets/duvets and we contacted the owners as our boys were cold during the night. The owners delivered some extra blankets which was great service considering the location. Apart from this the cottage is very well equipped and clean.

The cottage is ideally sited for exploring this very scenic area, where late spring/ early summer is a particularly good time to enjoy local wildlife. It is very near to the well known Inverewe gardens and excellent coast or mountain walks are easily found. The cottage was very comfortable, we were a bit surprised not to find a breadknife, oven gloves or coffee maker, but maybe these have now been supplied. We enjoyed excellent sunny weather throughout our stay, which helped.

The house was very clean, comfortable and beautifully presented. The situation of the home was amazing. On several occasions our kids were able to see a seal from the house - a very fun bonus. They loved the sheep in the neighbouring paddock as well.

The stay at the cottage was a wonderful time and it made our holiday. It is the best cottage we have stayed in since visiting the highlands over the last 26 years. I do not know what the Tourist Board Star Grade is - but it should be the highest for this cottage.

Pool House was on the shore; perfect for bird watching and many hills to walk. Would certainly go back to a beautiful situation. There was no rain which was a bonus.
