Lovely location in a small village, all nice and clean lovely clean bedding and towels, could have done with more than 2 teatowels.. As it is dog friendly providing water and feed bowls would be handy. Also a hairdryer would be good. None was an issue as we took our own incase.

The décor is somewhat dated HOWEVER, it's like going to stay at a favourite auntie's house.. It's really comfortable, cosy and relaxing. I have a very stressful job in IT and I find it hard to relax however at Pleasant cottage I actually relaxed and slept which I never do. This is the second time we've stayed at Pleasant cottage and I'm sure there'll be a third. The location is fab, brilliant pub about a mile's walk away (The Fox) and lovely dog walks around. The villagers are super friendly and the owner emailed me part way through the week to check everything was ok. Cottage is well equipped although if you like to cook like we do, take your own cooks knives as the ones there aren't great. Welcome pack of milk, tea, coffee and biscuits too which was lovely. It's a very quiet location which might not suit everyone but for us it was amazing and I would recommend. I'm genuinely sad we had to leave.

This cottage is located within the rolling hills of Dorset, we found the cottage comfortable and delivered for us easily.. Warm and nicely decorated we would be happy to recommend the property and it is likely if holidaying in the area again would return. The owner was helpful and wanted to ensure we wanted for nothing before our arrival. Welcoming biscuits for a cup of tea with milk already in the fridge helps our holiday start well. Thank you.

A comfortable cottage in a beautiful area of Dorset countryside, with many interesting places to visit - Sherborne Castle, Abbotsbury Gardens & Swannery, hilltop walks (see National Trust info).. The cottage proved ideal for the 2 of us on an October visit. A number of walks possible without getting in the car especially the medieval tracks nearby. Only minor point with the cottage is the creaky 1st floor which was not ideal if you were making a quiet visit to the loo at 3am etc. The Hare and Hounds at Waytown includes good vegetarian options in the menu, and welcomes dogs.

We have had a lovely break at Pleasant Cottage.. It is a beautifully equipped cottage in the most picturesque location. The owner has really thought about everything you could possibly need. We have had a fantastic few days away-thank you!

The kingsize bed was very uncomfortable, it sagged in the middle and was too soft, so I had to move to the single bed halfway through the week because my back was very sore.. But apat from that we really enjoyed our stay, Dorset was great, we had good weather. The local pub The Fox was a disappointment it had a very limited menu compared with when we stayed before which was in June some years ago.

Cottage very good but maybe need to let people know that the lanes around the cottage are very narrow.. Also missed my dish washer.

February 2018
Lovely cottage and a superb location - only gripe was that the handbook for the cottage stated that, despite being dog friendly, one is requested not to leave the dog alone in the house.. This was not stated anywhere on the website listing (that I could see?) and made some of our plans for the week a little awkward. We had booked a couple of restaurants that were not dog friendly and subsequently had to cancel the bookings. Apart from that, the cottage itself was perfect.

Pleasant Cottage was a very comfortable, warm and welcoming cottage for the half term week.. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Good location with good access to local villages, towns and beaches. A definite highlight was Chesil Beach, 40 minutes away by car. The Cottage was well equipped for a comfortable stay. Yvonne made early contact regarding the access and was available to contact if there were any issues. I will definitely recommend this cottage to my friends.

.... The house was great but the floor upstairs made such a noise and there was a banging from the heating or hot waterin the main bedroom apart from that it was very pleasent

Lovely cottage in quiet location. Spacious, clean and with comfortable beds. Delicious home made cake and freshly laid eggs were enjoyed by all on arrival. Would fully recommend this holiday cottage, within easy reach of the coast (20 mins to West Bay) and other attractions.

Corscombe is rural but that's not a bad thing in this case. You get a very clean and functional cottage equipped with everything you need in a holiday cottage. The welcome pack of milk , cake , tea , coffee is a nice extra. Dog's are welcome which is a must for us. The local pub The Fox Inn is a ten minute walk down the hill and should not be missed. Great atmosphere and food. Only small criticism is the central heating is quite noisy. Would definitely book again.

Perfect location for a mid-way meeting point between Kent and Cornwall for a long weekend catch-up with son and girlfriend. Peaceful village location, walking distance to village pub (dogs welcome) and ideally situated for visting Weymouth, Lyme Regis, Lulworth Cove, Dorchester to name a few local highlights. We were enchanted by the local scenery, the abundance of thatched cottages and the beatiful coastline. We were also thrilled by the kindnes of the owners to ensure a warm welcome by the provision of supplies for tea, coffee and a fantastic homemade cake on arrival. Fresh eggs for breakfast too. Such a treat.

The cottage is well appointed, comfortable and warm. The kitchen was well appointed particularly with regard to the fridge freezer and oven. The location was great as a good launch point for Dorset and some good local dog walks around the village.

Pleasant Cottage is a lovely cottage which was warm and comforting for our short winter break. The location is a great place to explore Dorset, Somerset and even Wiltshire. I would certainly recommend this cottage to family and friends.

We visited this cottage with our children. It was well equipped and comfortable and there was plenty of room for the five of us. The cottage was clean and there were useful extras such as story books. There is a playground close by. Finding a Victoria sandwich cake, eggs and milk had been left for our arrival was a bonus. The cottage is convenient for local attractions and the lack of light pollution is great for night walks.

I would definitely recommend Pleasant Cottage. It is very comfortable and well maintained. Despite visiting in October/November it was cosy and warm. The local area is beautiful and it is a great base from which to explore Dorset. The cottage is well laid out and it is great to have free wi-fi. On our arrival we were greeted with fresh flowers, cake, milk and local eggs. There is also a detailed guide with local restaurants and day trips. We booked through Syke's cottages who were very efficient and helpful. They quickly checked any queries for us with the owner. The owner was very accommodating and even let us bring our two house cats with us for the trip!

October 2014
I loved the village, even though it had no shop, and it was convenient for the local towns and beaches. The owner was particularly accommodating, I got the dates wrong due to being very tired when booking, arriving a day late, and was able to stay another night to make up. The heating was excellent as we could switch it on or off or turn it up or down as necessary.

The cottage was brilliant. Very central location to the coast and countryside and lovely and quiet too. All in all good value for money , big well done to the owners.

This is a very nice Cottage, its clean, spacious, and the children had hours of fun with the reclining sofas. It is situated in Corscombe which is nestled in the Dorset countryside, the village has a little play park just up the road from the Cottage but no Village shop. However Beauminster is only a short drive away and Crewkerne is not too far either so there are options. The house has most things although 3 small saucepans when your cooking for 5 people wasn't quite enough. The garden is only the small bit at the front as at the rear of the house it has been paved over which was a slight disappointment. There is also the possibility of having an open fire in the living room which for us is a bonus, and to be greeted by a note along with tea coffee and home made cake was a very nice gesture.
