We stayed at the P’lace of Glassaugh in November. We arrived at the property early, and Yvonne was on hand to welcome us, she showed us how all the kitchen appliances worked and walked round the property with us to make sure we was happy with everything, we was very happy especially with the little cheese board left for us thank you Yvonne. She informed us that David would be over shortly to go through the heating and how to light a successful fire in the Log Burner ( his tips were very welcomed ! ). The property is set in beautiful grounds , where you can walk around in the little woods on the land or the woods over the road where you will see deer and wild rabbits or just simply have a walk down to the local little beach and watch the windsurfers. We used this as a base to discover more of Scotland, we used a mixture of trains and car to discover Glasgow, Aberdeen John O Groats and the west coast of Scotland. Whether you are driving or travelling by train the views and scenery is amazing, we would then retire back to the home to chill out with a “wee drink” and the log fire ! The super king bed gave us a very good nights sleep. Dave and Yvonne are on hand if you ever needed them and if you are touring around then he can tell you the best places to visit ( including what pubs to visit) the farm shop literally 200 yards down the road is a must, the veg is super fresh and the meat from the local butcher there is the best quality meat we have tasted in a long time. The fish and chips from Portknockie is also a must super fresh and it’s cooked for you. Portsoy ice cream parlour is also worth a visit. This was our main holiday this year as we usually visit somewhere hot, however with all the restrictions we thought we would play it safe and stay in the UK, we really wasn’t disappointed in any shape or form , Dave and Yvonne’s home is outstanding in beauty and cleanliness, we really couldn’t have asked for anything else ,they are hosts that are proud of there home and genuinely want you to have a memorable holiday, thank you Dave and Yvonne
