We unfortunately had to cut our stay short however this place is amazing. This little cottage had everything you would need for a relaxing get away. The location was perfect for our needs. Whilst it was located up a country lane away from the busy outside world it was within easy reach of Penrith, Keswick and Ullswater. We were able to walk into Greystoke Village enjoying a lovely meal in the pub and enjoyed a cycle around the little villages. The bed was very comfortable, the bath great to soak your weary bones after a day on the fells and the WiFi good for planning trips around the area. The owners were lovely especially as we had to leave at such short notice.

We travelled from Northern Ireland and stayed at Pippa's Cottage for 3 nights short break with our 1 year old baby. Owner Daniel and family very welcoming and provided travel cot, highchair and baby bath which was much appreciated. Cottage very clean and finished to a high standard. Milk, prosecco and local toffee provided which was a nice touch. Quiet surroundings and we enjoyed watching the resident 5 chickens. Great base to explore the Lake District. Would love to stay again sometime. Highly recommend.

I booked into Pippas Cottage for a get away to visit family with my other half. The cottage is a perfect little base for exploring the lakes as well as the rest of Cumbria, set in quiet, picturesque surroundings. The cottage was spotlessly clean and well finished with everything you could possibly need for a stay away. The owners are incredibly friendly and helpful (and the chickens are lovely to watch through the windows!). There was a bottle of Prosecco and fresh milk in the fridge as well as locally produced toffees and fudge in the cupboard - very much appreciated! In short, I would recommend this cottage to anybody looking for the perfect spot for a relaxing holiday and will be booking my next stay soon! Thanks for a lovely week, Kate

We loved this little cottage, it was perfect for our needs as a couple.. It is close to Greystoke, within walking distance, where there is a pub serving delicious food. The castle is a short way further on where a local dog show was taking place, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The scenery is lovely, with Blencathra in view from our windows. The owner of the cottage made us feel very welcome, and the box of local toffee and bottle of Prosecco were really kind extras, much enjoyed by us! A short drive away is Penrith with lots of shops and eateries, plus a castle ruin with free entry. And a bit further away is Ullswater (my favourite lake). The cottage is beautifully kept, and quality furnishings are used. The kind sized bed was extremely comfortable, and we slept really well, it was very quiet at nighttime and also dark, with being set in the countryside on a non working farm. The five chickens wandering past our window amused us each morning, as they made their way from their hutch to the lawns in the warm sunshine! We would thoroughly recommend Pippa’s Cottage as a base for this part of Cumbria.

Pippa's Cottage sits on the edge of the Lake District National Park and as such "avoids" all the buzz of the more touristy parts of the Lake District.. It is only a short walk from the quaint and attractive estate village of Greystoke with its Castle and parklands. There are lovely easy walks in the surrounding countryside. Penrith is a short drive away and contains many independent shops and some interesting town trails exploring the history of the town. Pippa's Cottage itself is extremely comfortable and perfect for a couple, young or old. Being at the end of a country lane, it is free of any traffic noise with only birdsong and hen clucking to be heard. All the buildings that make up the small grouping at Red Barn have been tastefully restored and modernised and create a lovely ambience for a peaceful and restful holiday. Quite simply a delightful rural retreat.

We found Pippa's cottage exceeded our expectations.. The owner greeted us warmly to show us around the cottage, then left us to enjoy the holiday. The cottage was warm, spotlessly clean and comfortable in every way. The bed was large and very comfortable with a spacious ensuite bathroom an added bonus. The woodburning stove was simple to use and added enormously to the enjoyment of our stay. The cottage is set at the end of a lane and was so peaceful and quiet that we slept soundly! We would highly recommend the cottage and will look forward to the next holiday.

We loved how remote yet convenient the location is.. The hosts were friendly and the bed very comfortable. A lovely place to relax in after lots of adventuring around The Lakes :)

We had a lovely week's stay in Pippa's Cottage.. We were greated by the Owner on arrival and made to feel welcome and at home, There was a chilled bottle of Prosecco in the fridge (A very nice touch) also milk, tea, coffee etc to get us started. The weather was kind to us with only 1 day of rain but that didn't detract from the restful time spent in the Cottage, also getting out and about to so many lovely places to visit. Greystoke Village is about 1 1/2 miles by car but you can walk to the Village from the farm via a public footpath through fields, approx 20 mins. The Cottage is compact, and modern with everything there for the comfort of a couple to enjoy.

Wonderful cottage in a great location, very comfy bed , a little gem ! we were greeted with a bottle of Prosseco, milk and essentials to make a cuppa and a warm greeting from Elwyn with instructions to call him if needed. The cottage is ideal for a romantic break and is well equipped and cosy.It is situated in quiet/ peaceful / scenic countryside and only short walk to Greystoke village and short drive to Penrith/ Keswick/ glennriding and Ambleside,The resident cockerill and his harem of hens added to the charm we felt relaxed and chilled after our stay- first but not the last we hope!!

Cottage has been refurbished with modern high quality fittings and fixtures.. Bed very comfy, fluffy towels. Place well situated to explore the lake District. Owners live on site, very friendly and helpful but unobtrusive. Milk and wine in the fridge and wild flowers on the table were a lovely welcome. Would definitely recommend this cottage in its peaceful rural setting.

Beautiful cottage , perfect for a relaxing break for two.. Very handy off the M6 which meant that even although we were only staying for two nights we left Glasgow and just over two hours later we were in the cottage relaxing and looking out at the panoramic peaceful views. Cottage tastefully decorated, well equipped and warm. Friendly owner lives onsite and popped round to see that all was OK for us. Very kind gifts of local fudge and prosecco left for us. Easy drive or, better still, a walk over the fields to the local village of Greystoke which has a friendly inn, with bar food and a local shop. From Pippa's Cottage we were easily able to visit the local towns of Keswick, Grasmere, Pooley Bridge, Ambleside and Windermere; even though we were only there for two nights. Penrith, the Rheged centre and Carlisle also close by. As well as the outdoor pursuits of the area there are plenty of local cafes, restaurants and bars and we were very impressed that there are several restored cinemas in the area too. We hope to make Pippa's Cottage a regular retreat from the pressures of life. Would highly recommend.

It was a lovely relaxing stay at Pippa's Cottage, with everything you could want for a Lake District escape from London.. Easy to explore the rest of the Lake District and a great place to chill out!

Great base to explore the Lakes and North Pennines.. Outdoor pool in village is great for kids. Only thing I'd recommend is having some form of awning / shade out front as the sun was very strong and couldn't stay outside.
