Pheasant Cottage description

Holiday home
With a wealth of traditional features and modern conveniences, this cottage has been thoughtfully converted to provide welcoming holiday accommodation. There is a bright and inviting sitting area with a wood burner, making this a cosy area in which to relax. The sitting room has French doors that lead to a delightful garden and patio area, and the dining room overlooks this space. The kitchen is light, modern and equipped to a high standard, and there are three lovely and serene bedrooms, a double and two twin rooms. One of the twin rooms benefits from an en-suite bathroom, and there is a further ground floor bathroom. The wooden floors and exposed stone work and beams give the cottage wonderful character and make this property a great holiday centre.

Area
The fascinating market town of Kirkbymoorside is situated on the edge of The North Yorks Moors National Park between Helmsley and Pickering. There have been two castles in the town and fragments can still be found in the area, with stones from one of the castles used in the building of the Toll House in the centre of the town. The town has a broad cobbled main street and is flanked by magnificent Georgian buildings. There are walks from the town towards Hutton-le-Hole and the fabulous Ryedale Folk Museum can be found here. Visitors can take a trip back in time and discover what life was like in past times. With its idyllic location and stunning scenery, Kirkbymoorside is a super holiday base.

Region
The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.

A beautiful three bed cottage with a completely enclosed garden suitable for dogs and children.. On site utility room for all cottages to use was a bonus too. Cottage was clean and comfortable and we struggled to find any fault with it.. Owner was great often on hand to chat and give advice. Would hope to return in a few years.

We thoroughly enjoyed our peaceful stay at Pheasant Cottage.. The cottage was very comfortable, nicely decorated and was in a lovely country setting. We arrived to lots of snow and on the first day walked out of the cottage door along footpaths through a snowy wood, down to a river, visited an ancient Church and then back across fields, admiring all the wildlife such as deer, Highland cattle and of course many beautiful pheasants - instant relaxation. On arrival Tracy was very helpful showing us how to use everything in the house and gave us plenty of info on where was good to eat.We found a lovely homemade fruit cake in the kitchen too! Would highly recommend!

We've just spent a week at this cottage with our daughter, son in law, 3 grandchildren and pet dog. Our 7 year old granddaughter was the first to run into the property whilst we began to unload the car and quickly ran out to us shouting" THIS IS FABULOUS", We could only agree! The cottage was lovely, spacious and very homely and dog friendly. The owners certainly went the extra mile to welcome us, with a pint of milk in the fridge, a lovely homemade fruit cake and a jar of dog biscuits. The property was immaculately clean with plenty of towels including a set of towels for the dog. It is so well equipped it is a home from home and excellent value for money. We look forward to having a return visit. The property is in a very peaceful location approximately half way between Pickering and Helmsley and about 25 miles from Scarborough.

Superb place to stay for a short break. The owner made us feel very at home and nothing was too much trouble. Can't recommend enough a break here for any couple or family wanting a base to get away from it all and enjoy the Ryedale and Hawardian areas of North Yorkshire.
