What a wonderful place to stay. The cottage is hidden away in Newby Bridge and in a great location for local walks or commutes to the Southern Lakes. Although the cottage does have a small kitchen the rest of the property is very spacious and the bathroom has clearly only just been updated with a large walk in shower. We were really impressed with the storage, plenty of room for our belongings, having stayed in many places where you are falling over your stuff this was really appreciated. The standard of decor was high and the facilities good with the little touches making a difference. Books, videos, games for the rainy days and lots of information on where to go. The kitchen was small however all utensils were available to use, there were only two electric rings on the hob, however we took our own air fryer which tends to travel around the country with us so it was not a problem for us. There was even a local peacock who came and said hi one day. There is an added bonus of a hot tub which we did use once as the weather wasn't too kind on other days or we were so shattered after our long walks. All in all a great place to stay, one of our best and we would highly recommend it.

Lovely cosy cottage! Located on the quieter side of Windermere, it is perfect for a nice, relaxing break away from busier Bowness! The cottage itself was spotlessly clean and was very well equipped, with the welcome biscuits and bottle of fizz particularly nice touches! The hot tub is also excellent and, with no light pollution at all, the stars are amazing to view on a clear night:) There is plenty of good walking on the doorstep of the cottage, without the need to get in the car, and trips to Bowness or Ambleside are easily achieved using the Windermere ferry service, which is only a 10 minute walk from the cottage and which I highly recommend. The Lakeside Hotel & Spa is also only 10 minutes walk away with views across the lake and a small but very good spa! Definitely planning on visiting again. 10 out of 10!!
